How do you think viruses spread? Do they consult your disaster preparedness plans?

You’re playing a stupid game with a pandemic. It’s strong evidence that your mom didn’t raise you well.

That hydroxychloroquine + Z-pack is sure working great! W/o that we'd probably be to 500 deaths today

You’re taking a weird angle here. You’re trying to win an argument by looking like a giant piece of shite.

The U.S. ranked 19th overall risk environment and vulnerability to biological threats, a category that assesses political and security risk, socioeconomic resilience, the adequacy of infrastructure, environmental risks, and public health vulnerabilities that may inhibit a country's ability to prevent or respond to an epidemic or pandemic.

Look at the entire report. U.S, was 1st in 5 of 6 categories, but 19th in risk.

Par for the course when you're not a 3rd world shithole, a European immigrant camp or an Asian paper tiger.

There's no argument. The U.S. ranked 19th in overall risk environment and vulnerability to biological threats, which is a category that:

"assesses political and security risk, socioeconomic resilience, the adequacy of infrastructure, environmental risks, and public health vulnerabilities that may inhibit a country's ability to prevent or respond to an epidemic or pandemic."

... brings the total to 784. That is 3.4% of US Flu deaths this year, albeit in 1/3rd the time.

False. 1st in 4 of 6, 2nd in one (behind UK), and then tied for 19th in the last.

You know who is number one in that last category? That global power and travel destination:

LiechtenSTEIIINNNNNN!!!

And the USA is 19th particularly because of "environmental risks" from that category. That's made up by urbanization (% of total population in urban areas), land use (percentage point change in forest area between 2006-2016), and natural disaster risk (risk the economy will suffer a major disruption owing to a natural disaster). It's one of three categories in the whole ranking that the USA is below the average score. Yet, of those three, it is the closest to the average (51.7 USA, 52.9 average).

So, 80% of the US population lives in urban areas. Not sure what our forests have done in that decade, but more than likely it has reduced. And we've certainly been hit by a large number of disasters nationwide the last decade plus. Can't really plan our way out of that one (though, we can engineer and restrict).

Boy...you really got them now!

We are behind the UK in rapid response, by the way. They sort of slow played this thing in the beginning, didn't they?

For funnsies, since we're on track to keep pace with and overtake Italy. Their rankings(rank (score)):

Overall: 31 (56.2)
1. Prevention: 45 (47.5)
2. Early detection/reporting: 16 (78.5)
3. Rapid response/mitigation: 51 (47.5)
4. Health system: 54 (36.8)
5. Capability to improve: 29 (61.9)
6. Risk and Vulnerability: 55 (65.5)

USA Scores:
Overall: 1 (83.5)
1. Prevention: 1 (83.1)
2. Early detection/reporting: 1 (98.2)
3. Rapid response/mitigation: 2 (79.7) (UK crushes this one at 91.9)
4. Health system: 1 (73.8)
5. Capability to improve: 1 (85.3)
6. Risk and Vulnerability: 19 (78.2)

The flu has killed 10,000+ in America just this season with over 190,000 hospitalized.
