Gonna catch some hell with this one:

Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Amazing special effects, great story, thought Frodo and Sam were too angsty and bitches... I could never like them, especially Frodo... he ruined it for me more than Sam

Blade Runner 2049

Honorable mention:

"so called" Star Trek (2009)

I didn't struggle to enjoy this one, though. I struggled to not utterly detest it and failed.

Come at me, bro.

Matrix- First saw it after all the hype which probably ruined it for me. Especially since all the main parts were referenced in a million different things I'd already seen.

Dunkirk- just incredibly boring.

The Shining- I just can never get hooked watching it and always zone out.

Is there a more overhyped w/d on this board than Tiki Masala? WWDITS was difficult to watch. I get that people like it, but to act as if this dude is the greatest thing in film today is weird. What he did to Thor was a travesty

Now shower me in your downvotes you sycophantic plebs

The first Batman with Jack Nicholson.

I thought Keaton was good but the rest of the cast was a joke.

I thought keaton was bad and the rest of the cast was great. Keaton was the only one who was miscast.

Dunkirk for me. I love anything WW2, but I didn't enjoy that movie. I've been way more impressed by documentaries on Youtube.

Once upon a time in Hollywood.

I was really hoping this would be a redemption movie for Quentin Tarantino but it was almost unwatchable.

For Taiki Waititi? You are trying WAY too hard.

He's one of the few creative people in the movie industry. What We Do in the Shadows and Jojo Rabbit are great, Thor Ragnarok is one of the few superhero movies worth a damn.

Agree with this. I usually like Stephen King movies, even the bad ones but I just have never been able to get into this.

I tried to watch Passengers again recently and it's just bad. I also couldn't quit noticing Chris Pratt's mascara or eyeliner or whatever he was wearing in this.

How has the Hobbit Trilogy not been mentioned? Love Tolkien and always told everyone the Hobbit would make a better move ten LOTR, then those turds showed up.

I love the shining, but I think it’s my childhood/nostalgia driving my adoration

This. Was such a good book, but the movie felt forced and rushed.

wut? Jack Palance, Kim Bassinger, Guy who play Alfred, Billy Dee Williams, and many others were all great.

Kim's sidekick reporter sucked balls, though.
