I will be in Lafayette for the weekend and was looking for a good casual type restaurant to eat. Any type of food will do. Just looking for something that is not a chain type joint. TIA!

Bon temps grill makes a damn good ribeye.
Judice Inn has one of the best burgers you'll ever eat.
Fezzo's in Scott (10 minutes from Lafayette) has the best seafood you can get around here.

Get dessert at Borden's, the last one remaining in the United States.

One of my friends said it best, "Eating at T-Coons was a religious experience. They turned my lunch into a pillar of salt."

Alesi's, on Johnston Street for the lasagna
Deano's Pizza, Kaliste Saloom Road for the fried eggplant and spinach and artichoke appetizer. Pizza is also good.
Marcello's Wine Market and Café on Kaliste Saloom for traditional Italian (dinner only on the weekend)
Joey's specialty market and deli, 503 Bertrand Drive, for Lunch.
