No, Ruthie, actually abortion is nearly 100% unsafe .... for the baby.
BTW La. people, she made this statement hearing a Louisiana case.
quote:
“Most of the people who get abortions never have any need to go to a hospital, isn’t that so?” she asked the attorneys, later adding: “You don’t dispute … that among medical procedures, first-trimester abortion is among the safest, far safer than childbirth.”

These people are horrible.
At least there should be a smidgen of shame for advocating it so enthusiastically.
50 years of lying about wanting to keep it "rare"

She should be worrying about protecting herself from covid19.

It’s not evil to give birth. It’s evil to kill your own child out of convenience.

You know what's safer than abortion? Using a condom when you're whoring around.

Just makes me sad that Ruth Ginsburg’s parents weren’t 100% all in for her being aborted

RBG did not say that. I am 100% sure the quote you listen was inaccurate (if taken in 2020).
Because she died last year.

Is any of this a matter of legal opinion?

Don't think so.
Also Most does not equal all.
Is risking 1 life too many? Where does she draw that line.

The world would be a safer, and better, place without people like RBG in it. Anytime you are ready Grim Reaper, do us a solid

If I was Ginsburg's age, I'd have been in retirement for over 20 years at this point.

The single most important issue in the LEGAL analysis of THIS case is medical risk/safety and whether the legislature chose to impose higher standards for THIS procedure than for other, unrelated procedures with a similar level of medical risk.

Interesting, you basically manipulate the narrative as if all have agreed that abortion is not murder. Same as RBG. The case all along has been whether abortion is murder or not. And there has not been a legal consensus around that issue.
There are safe and unsafe ways to administer the death penalty. I'm just guessing you're against the death penalty based on your political leanings. Correct me if I'm wrong. In the eyes of a conservative, with the death penalty, you're taking the life of someone given the opportunity at life and has royally botched it with intent. With abortion, you're murdering a life that was purely innocent.

This is their continuing redefinition of life to suit their politics. You can see that it isn't a stretch to devalue demographics and even ideology once they can redefine and make an unborn child a non-person.
Every single one of us started life as an unborn child. I've never understood the argument that makes it a non-person. Even reasonable pro-choice folks used to concede that at some point, 22, 24 weeks of gestation, or thereabouts, there would be some concern and certainly by the time we got to the upper 20-week mark, 30 weeks, etc., that was a human being.
Not this new crew - I'm not sure they even view viability as any sort of bar - they're for 27th trimester abortions if they could get that through the courts. And celebrate every one.

quote:You misunderstand the point I made in that post. I will not yet opine as to whether you did so intentionally, because I frankly have no idea who you are. It is entirely possible that you simply do not have a very good understanding of the legal issues related to THIS thread and THIS specific case.
Interesting, you basically manipulate the narrative as if all have agreed that abortion is not murder.
This thread arises from oral arguments in a specific case, related NOT to a law banning abortion (your “murder” argument), but rather a law regarding procedural requirements for facilities which provide abortion services).
Yes, the “murder“ question is a significant part of the OVERALL abortion debate. Personally, I think that terminology is moronic, but the issue is indeed an important part of the debate.
As to THIS case, that is simply not an issue. The state of Louisiana acknowledged that abortion is (at least for now) legal, and the legislature came up with a set of policies and procedures which nonetheless attempted to curtail it.
The legality of that effort is the issue in THIS case. And that issue will be resolved, at least in part, based upon comparative medical risk.
