5 straight Finals appearances. It was a foregone conclusion that everyone in the west was fighting for 2nd place. At least in the years prior there was some hope for 2-3 teams to represent their conference.

Cavs v Warriors was not good for basketball after the 3rd season. I, along with many friends, basically stopped watching in 2018. Just wasn't fun anymore, and now we find ourselves struggling to enjoy the sport since all anyone does is chuck 3s all game.

Maybe I'm getting old at 31. Idk

basketball takes so much more skill and coordination

Yeeeeah, no. Hell, most basketball players aren't very good at the basics of basketball. How many big men can actually dribble more than 10 paces without dribbling it off their feet or getting their pocket picked? How many players are liabilities late in games because they can't shoot free throws?

Have you ever watched an NBA players attempt to do anything related to another sport like throw a baseball, swing a bat or golf club? Embarrassing, usually.

Probably the best athletes as far as all around skills (hand-eye coordination, strength, quickness, etc) are either baseball or hockey players.

2. Most people weren’t skilled enough to play high school basketball but since a high school football team needs like 20 people to be competitive almost anyone who weighs over 100lbs can make the team

A lot of MSBers were that 100 pound kid who never played on their 0-10 high school team. But they were on the team.

I love when people do the “questioning your numbers!!!” Internet move when clearly someone is generalizing or guessing.
Obviously their are exceptions to my totally made up number tough guy

Guessing. Exactly, as in you have no clue what you’re taking about at all. The number is so horrendously off that it illustrates how out of touch you are about football.

As far as why football is more popular, Americans love violence.

By "skilled enough" you mean tall enough? You dont need any skills to make a high school team at 6'5".

There are plenty of more skilled players that ride the bench and have no chance of playing past D2 college

Outside of humans just wanting to see violence, I think scheduling plays a big factor as well. 1 game a week makes it more of a must see event compared to sports like basketball or baseball where your team can play around 4 games a week. It attracts more casuals.

You really want to know why? Because white players are more relevant in football. Don’t get all sensitive on me with my hot take. You know I’m right.

Since your favorite football team only plays once a week and only 12-18 times a year the games are a bigger deal and mean more

This.

Also, people LIKE violence. Always have. Always will. Football is much more violent and that’s why people love it. There’s a reason why a tomahawk dunk gets the crowd to jump out of their seats and yell while a jumper from the elbow gets a golf clap and it’s not the end result.

Gladiators, Christians vs lions, etc, we love violence?

Interesting question, but when LSU sucked at football and was great in basketball, I would skip class to get in line for basketball....

Basketball sucks, brah.

I mean the spirt itself is ok, but the actual leagues suck.

Most people can’t do those things even close to respectably. Then imagine if those people were now 6’6”+ with even longer wingspans. A 6’10” guy dribbling even semi-effectively with defensive pressure is a feat.

The answer to OP is violence, imo.
