It’s a joke. People have long suspected Pujols is older than he portrays himself to be.

Do I need to break out the Calhoun gif again?

The appropriate question is he the next Mickey Mantle and the answer is yes.

He is really 43 not 40, we all know he is a few years older than what is actually stated

Too squeaky clean.

Babe was a booze hound that chased pussy and was still blasting shots out of those cavernous yards they used to play in.

Although never having seen him play, I’d say they’re comparable definitely.

However, if Mickey does not blow out his knee (thank you Joe frickin DiMaggio) I don’t know if anybody could match the numbers he would’ve put up. He’s the most physically gifted baseball player of all time in my book and it’s a damn shame his career took the path it did.

There’s is nothing about Trout that says all time great, much less GoaT.

Batters are going for the 3 true outcomes in their at bats at the highest rate all time in the game and he is the poster child for that, plus he gets an empty steal here and there so sabermetric guys beat off to him.

I’d say he’s the James Harden of MLB but Harden at least makes the playoffs regularly. So he’s the Devin Booker/KAT/Trae of MLB.

And here come the Trout cuck downvoters.

Edit: they made it in 14. 0-3 in DS...

But how many postseason wins would the Angels not have if you didn't include his WAR? Have you ever considered that?

Here come "muh TEAMMATES" cucks.

The most apt comparison is that he's Dan Fouts. All that "greatness" and he won't have Jack shite to show for it.

I'd make an argument for Griffey as the most physically gifted.

Last year it was Bellinger then Yelich. Acuna will likely be better too. Alonso will be in that mix too. We’ll see how Betts does in LA and how Stanton rebounds.

Does anyone seriously believe Trout is worth his contract?

In 2018, Trout and Mookie Betts both put up 10 WAR. Betts’ teammates put up nearly double the WAR of Trout’s. The Red Sox won the WS. The Angels missed the playoffs. What could explain the discrepancy between their teams success:

A. Betts had a much better supporting cast in a sport where one person can’t make that much of a difference.

or

B. Mike Trout has innate choking ability that manages to completely stay hidden in the stats.

Hmm, I’m not sure which one a is more reasonable explanation.

I don't see this one. He seems too much like Aaron Judge (will get hurt a lot after a big Rookie year) but fat. He'll be an Adam Dunn type player.

Stanton rebounds.

This guy has turned into Jacoby Ellsbury.

Since his first full major league season Trouts fangraphs WAR finishes are

1st - 4 times
2nd - 3 times
4th - 1 time

So in the worst year of his career (he missed 40+ games with a thumb injury) he was still the 4th most valuable player in baseball. For me Trout probably goes down as the best ever

8 MLB seasons since exceeding rookie limits in 2012

His Accomplishments Include:
2012 Rookie of the Year
8 time All-Star
7 time Silver Slugger
3 time AL MVP
4 time MVP Runner Up
The only time he didn't win the Silver Slugger or finish top 2 in MVP voting was in 2017 when he missed a month and a half due to injury. That year, he still finished 4th in MVP votes.

How exactly is there nothing about Trout that says all time great?

You're either trolling or know nothing about baseball.

He’s got a long way to go. Is he not really better than Pujols was his first 9 seasons? Let’s see how Father Time and injuries/wear play for him going forward.

And he isn’t as good as Babe Ruth IMO. But that’s a tall order for any player.

He is a fantastic player, no doubt about that, however.
