You can get it from animal bites, but it's not exactly common. Animals also eat weird stuff, so in theory it could have eaten feces or something metal.

Got bit by snakes all the time growing up. Never had any issue with a bite. And most of the snakes we caught (and got bit by) were water snakes that lived in a sewage canal, so they weren’t exactly hygienic. Tetanus shots are for the weak.

Nah, clean well with peroxide and use antibiotic ointment. Leave uncovered.
