Handcuff yourself to the bed each night and put the key in a different place. Your subconscious won't be able to pull it from your conscious mind because it will be in short term memory. Problem solved.

What? Go see the specialist. Your copay is probably $50. If he suggests a sleep study ask about pricing and call your insurance to see how much they cover. They will cover some.

Most of the time it is harmless but there are instances of me cooking my wife's ashtray in the airfryer, I cooked a plastic jar of peanutbutter on the stove eye. Last week I took my toolbag outside and took the wheels off our garbage can.

Sounds like you're at least making improvements..

But for real, I did that as a kid a few times. Pissed in the dryer, my mom wasnt happy about that one, sleepwalking or not.

I have heard of those special blankets for sleepwalkers. It's kind of like a mummy sleeping bag that you get into then lay down in bed and have your SO pull this other sheet or blanket thing up over your chest and arms then zip it up and it basically holds you down in bed. I think you can even put a padlock on the zipper too.

If it's real, it's something I could never do due to a slight claustrophobia I have. Also, seems pretty dangerous in the event of a break in or fire or something since you are pretty much trapped in bed.

Occasionally, I go to sleep in bed and wake up on the couch.

LINK

YouTube link to comedian Mike Bibiblica talking about sleep walking.

He had experiences like OP.

He ended up getting a room he sleeps in which is locked from the outside.

I sleptwalk for a brief time. One morning, I awoke with coffee filters placed randomly upside down throughout my house. A few times getting up and eating things, like 3 cans of asparagas one night, leaving the cans laying around on the floor. It stopped as quick as it started, was pretty much just a phase, I guess.

If you're being serious, you definitely need some help. Driving while asleep is not a good combination.

One of the side effects of Remeron is sleep disturbance. Particularly of REM sleep. The effects of sleep disturbance are cumulative.

When my Dad died, I could not sleep for 4 days. I entered a Fugue State where I couldn’t distinguish between dreams and reality. After 5 days I was hospitalized. It was scary.

It may be that you are an outlier on the Remeron side effects graph. Even if you’ve stop using it there may be some lag time before its effects stop.

I hope your doctor can help you. Tell him everything, including the things you couldn’t tell us. It’s vital that he have all the info so that he can find a medicine that doesn’t disrupt your brain processes so much.
