Why do Mandeville and Covington get so much hype here?

I've been to both numerous times and they are nothing more than a glorified Smyrna, GA with even worse congestion issues. I guess if chain restaurants, strip malls, and a big Chimes are your thing then by all means.
Surely there are better places to live in Louisiana?

Cause they’re not New Orleans

Ruston, Natchitoches.

1990’s metro Atlanta was awesome. The buzz for the 96 Olympic Games, the growing Buckhead entertainment area. Great times.
East Cobb, Marietta, Lawrenceville, Sandy Springs were all so nice and somewhat small before they became too congested.

Yep. My grandma has been in Marietta since 55. I grew up in the 90s and the last 20 years alone has been insane watching the growth. Not even worth it to get out between 730-1030 and 230-7 on a highway. Just gonna sit.

Totally. That's it. Just fast food, a Chimes and strip malls. Downtown Covington is nothing but a ghost town of empty storefronts and mothballs lol.

Yeah and everything just kept spreading outward into what we know today as Ackworth, Alpharetta, Cumming, Duluth, etc.
