Have you ever complemented a woman on losing weight?

So the other day i was out to eat with some of my friends and stumbled across a girl I went to high school with years ago.
I said hello to her, talked briefly and then carried on having lunch with my friends.
Now back in the day, she wasn't a fat girl but she was definitely soft and would have been considered "heavier". She had clearly lost some weight, to point where it was actually the first thing i noticed, once i recognized her.
I thought about telling her that it looked like she lost a lot of weight but decided to keep that thought to myself. (figured more bad than good could come out of it)
Now to me...when i lose weight and someone notices, its added motivation to keep going or that the diet was actually worth it. But to a woman i fear that their first thought is "so i was fat?" and then they get pissed and insulted that i commented on their body...
Anyone else ever encountered this situational dilemma?

The vag on the left pic looks much poofier and inviting than that bony thing on the right.

The words you are looking for are "You look great!", keep other comments to yourself.

That’s all you need to say. Anything beyond that could be taken wrong.

“Wow. You look great! Whatever you’re doing, keep it up.”

Only if they tell me they have been working hard on losing some weight. Anything else is asking for trouble.

The correct response to a female that loses all that weight is, "You just get younger looking every day. What is your secret?"
Let THEM bring up their exercise and weight loss program. Not you.

This is the where the word fit should be used... Like wow Karen I haven't seen you in years you are looking fit as ever.
The Brits are very fitting at using the word fit

Always tricky because she could have lost the weight due to an illness or something.

There is a girl in our office that is 8 months pregnant. One of the warehouse supervisors commented to her” that is going to be a big baby, you’ve put on a few during your pregnancy “... she called HR because he “ shamed” her, poor guy almost lost his job

what sane man would EVER think its the right thing to do to comment in any way about a womans weight or age, there are 100 ways that can go and 99 of them are all bad for you

You can say this with just the right sort of inflection that the complimentee knows what you're saying, without actually saying it, and that's the perfect thing.
