He is just a Junior this year and It would take a very high draft pick for him to forgo playing at LSU. It means he would have to go in the first round and based on currently where he is ranked, he’s likely a 2-4 round pick, considering he continues to progress in a positive direction. As a side note, he is also a great pitcher for St. Paul. He throws in the 90-92mph range from the mound.

I thought he was a senior. My bad.

But that makes my point even stronger.

Perfect Game already has him projected in the Top 10 rounds when he's draft eligible.

Unless it's his lifelong dream to play for LSU, we'll never see him in an LSU uniform...

Serious question though, why is he is using a Victus Vandal and not Marucci?

Every single team in the country, save for one, can make this same statement about their shortstop.

LOL, Hughs is not going to be the deciding factor in wether we win a Natty or not. We actually have a lot or question marks right now. Are we going to win a natty with Dugas at 2nd, what about Gio at Center? We have some good young talent and will fill these holes. My personal feeling is that Dugas ends up winning an infield spot and Hampton moves into the spot in Center. Gio will be our utility outfielder and play against some right handed pitching. Hal would be a great utility infielder if we could get someone to help secure the center of the infield. Look for changes to be made and solidified by the time we get to SEC play, like every year.

I respect you as a person for defending your son, Hal's dad.

Yeah, Paul Mainieri just doesn't know when a player should start or not. Maybe this message board should set the lineup.

You’re an idiot. This board is about being fans. When your fanbase knows baseball and your shortstop sucks, can’t hit and isn’t to the quality you expect you’re allowed to voice it, whether you could do better yourself or not

So you are celebrating a guy who has been a starter in the program for 3 years is making contact with the ball? This is what you get encouragement from? Contact? Would you listen to yourself.

You think our fans know baseball because Bertman won several championships?

How do you know we get worse at third?

I don't know it. I do know that the coach thinks we would, because I've heard him discuss Dougherty's defensive liabilities.

My grandfather died in June of last year. Our last conversation was about how Hal Hughes sucks. No lie.

That's sad...but funny.

PM couldn't win the NC with Alex Bregman starting at shortstop...and Aaron Nola pitching!

Lest we forget!
