It’s CPM’s fault the better SS had to get a rib removed a few weeks before the season started?

And Cairo lied to the staff about what he would sign for. But you can’t explain anything to these idiots.

I wish Eddie Smith would at least teach Hal to hit the ball on the ground. His little leaguer cans of corn to shallow right field get pretty sad to watch

He could bunt every time and probably have a higher average.

Maybe as LSU fans if you guys can continue to bash one of our own players

Thought this was against the rules on Tigerdroppings? Perhaps Admins should follow the rules of the site and quit worrying about something that’s not in the rules: alters.

We won’t win a NC with Hughes starting at shortstop

These absolute statements are my favorite part of the rant. Just like Paul Mainieri will never win another championship. Both are possible. Hughes does not need to hit .300 nor does he need to hit a single home run for this team to succeed. It’s just the first weekend series of the season. I seriously doubt Smith is finished teaching our guys for the year, so maybe JUST MAYBE, hitters can improve DURING THE SEASON.

I don’t hate Hal Hughes at all. I hate that CPM won’t get him tf off the field. it’s not HH’s fault that he’s one of the worst batters we’ve had in a starting lineup in the past decade

There is no way we can’t plug someone in at SS that has a much better bat.

Of course we can plug someone in who can hit better. At this time there is really only one choice - the third baseman, Mathis. However, he can’t make the plays Hal can make, and if that results in one opponent batter getting on base in each game, then replacing Hughes with Mathis would be a colossally stupid move. Remember, you would not only get worse at shortstop, you would also get worse at third.

The answer is Zach Arnold. Unfortunately, he had to have surgery before the season, but when he comes back it’s reasonable to expect that he’ll need about a month to start hitting well.
Zach Arnold Profile
Arnold expected back mid-March. Might be mid-April before he’s in the lineup

This why there should be no Hal Hughes posts. OTOH, those posts are great idiot identifyers.

Yes let’s protect the player’s sensitive feelings from real world criticism. That will help them in the pros or the rest of their life.

Shut the frick up you pussy. If he has one ounce of backbone, which I know he does, he will use the criticism to get better.

Everyone here is LSU fans first, not Hal Hughes fans. He knows he plays for the name on the front of his jersey and all we want is LSU to win.

It's mob mentality. People try to gain acceptance to the herd by being critical.

Everyone knows what Hughes brings, but some still think it's edgy to post something every day.

Maybe he needs LASIK? Even if he doesn’t, the procedure should keep him out the lineup for a few weeks

When he is regressing because he is struggling with the one part of the game he is in there for (defense)...

Probably

This is pure delusion. Hughes is not going to get much better no matter how much time he spends in the cage.

The blame shouldn't be on Hughes.

It’s less edgy and more frustration, IMO.

I’m not saying he is going to get better. I’m saying he has 2 options: try or quit

I doubt some anonymous internet posters are going to make or break him. If they do then he has bigger problems. I’m sure he would be the first to tell you that has to do better at the plate.

No, it is his fault that on a roster of 35 players, he only has one that is supposedly better than Hal Hughes at SS.

Looksto me like he's giving it his best. The criticism is going to the wrong person.
