I was reading a very interesting article by a guy who survived the civil war in Bosnia (1990s). He said right before the war a big thing was monuments removal. He had a lot of other similarites to now in USA.

I agree.
I would note that this is Virginia history, or at least white Virginia history.
The people who want to destroy these statues are also white. But they’re from the North, and while they may not be self aware enough to appreciate it, what they’re trying to do is erase our cultural history, and us with it. If they’re successful, we will eventually cease to exist.
It’s a zero sum battle between two very different cultures.

All they did was turn power back to locals, it made no sense that they were protected by the state anyway. Where are you small government conservatives now??
