I have a friend who took a good job offer for a credit agency who tested hairs. They were caught by surprise as well and did not get the job.

All scalp hair testing is based on assumption that each 1/2 inch is roughly equivalent to 30 days. Protocol is to collect at least an inch and a half from the scalp, If that is not possible then get hair from the the body. Usually the arm or leg is shaved and that is sent in. No one can really say how long the detection window is when you submit body hair. It is definitely a longer window than 1.5 inches of scalp hair.

Okay, I didn't know it was standard for that field. I'm a CPA so it would just be stupid odd in the business world.

It goes back 90 days. More sensitive than urine which goes back about 2 weeks.

I've just never heard of a follicle sample as the primary drug testing method.
Some railroads have used it as the primary for a long time.

WTF? A hair follicle drug test for a job?
I work in the office for a warehouse. We hair follicle test every single general warehouse TEMP before they start working for us.

I failed a hair follicle test just being in the same in a room that was being heavily smoked in. Didn’t touch drugs for 4 months

Mr tunica, this is Felicia from xxx testing. Is there any reason you would test positive for cocaine, thc, opioids, and alcohol? No you say? Ok night night.

Aspire to a career field that doesn't drug test.
