Saw a social media ad (didn’t want to link the social media link since you gotta log in and all that BS) advertising buy Zatarains at Rouses and make a jambalaya bar. Yes, cook Zatarain’s box jambalaya (with no meat, just the box of rice), put it in the center of the table, and put bowls of toppings around so a person can mix in his or her own toppings.

Toppings included: “Zatarain’s Andouille Smoked Sausage”, raw mushrooms, shredded chicken, shrimp, diced bell pepper, and sautéed onions.

Rouses should be embarrassed to let McCormick push this on them as jambalaya.

Rouses here has a huge crawfish boiling display and everything is Zatarains! I took a sharp left and hit the spice aisle for all the good stuff not named Zatarains. Too much superior products out there but the tourists around here do not know any better.

Now wait just a minute. Y’all had me with the crappy jambalaya but zatarans makes a perfectly respectable crawfish boil.

Wonder if Lil Donny hand selected the rice and spices for the mix.
Bet it’s awesome!

Rouse's in New Orleans has gone to sh*t in the past 6 mos. They seem to be overly concerned with branding products under their own name then quality. Produce and fruit is absolute garbage and apt to spoil within 48 hours of purchase. Used to be a great store - ain't there no more.

Unfortunately, our choices are limited in NO. My guess is that is why Rouse's has decided to go all in the money grap vs quality routine.

Costco, Trader Joe’s and Fresh Market are our rounds. I like to grab that $20 meal for 4 at FM. matter of fact, the chicken Parmesan is back tomorrow.

Are fresh market meals decent? We don't cook a ton during the week and I work pretty close to a FM. Never tried them.

Go in there and check it out. One in Metry is great., I get a lot of meats at Costco tho. The meal for 4 is Legit.

Same here. I went to three places and it wasn't on sale. I guess Rouse's is where to go. I want a gallon of liquid boil also. That's good for a few boils.
