I’d take Publix and HEB any day. Both are good stores.

The biggest problem I have with Rouses is their local claim. They dumped the Louisiana grocery supplier and moved to a supplier from Alabama. They have a few “local” products in the store, but their business is not local. Yet that’s their claim to fame. On a positive note, they usually have enough checkout lanes open.

They seem to be overly concerned with branding products under their own name then quality.

Their rebranding of products is a joke, especially their deli meats, yuk.
Unfortunately they bought out all but one of our local grocery stores. So for me it’s either the local IGA or Walmart, and I’m fine with that.
Rouse trying to get too big too fast. Quality going downhill, products overpriced.
Rouse - No thank you.

Extremely overrated. They are very clean and excellent customer service but the meat and seafood departments are very lacking, overall selection sucks and the prices are high. People from Louisiana think they are the greatest thing ever because the only time they go to one is when they are on vacation in Florida. (not saying that is you)

Man, I go to Rouses often and don't find it to be bad for most products, but their meat selection is pathetic at the new one in BR.

Would love to have Publix, or at least a Kroger.

We have a few very good Krogers here in MS. However I drive down to Hammond for Rouses for plenty of cajun and LA ingredients. Kroger just doesn't have anywhere near the selection. Yall would be very disappointed when looking for LA specific cuisine ingredients.

Rouse's in New Orleans has gone to sh*t in the past 6 mos. They seem to be overly concerned with branding products under their own name then quality. Produce and fruit is absolute garbage and apt to spoil within 48 hours of purchase. Used to be a great store - ain't there no more.

Expanding too fast.

Need to be taken over by H-E-B. Make it happen baws!

I'm a brown jambalaya guy, not a red jambalaya guy, so Zat's is a no-go for me.

And that idea is awful. It's jambalaya, not a damn salad.

Brown for me also.
I do know people down the bayou that make a red shrimp jambalaya, that’s the only red one I’ll eat. It’s alright but I much rather a brown jambalaya.
