No. The courts would throw it out. It’s political not a legal matter.

It is a trial nonetheless, and they were not allowed to call on witnesses in the Senate. The argument no longer became whether or not he was guilty, but whether or not he deserved to be removed. Republicans did not want witnesses because they knew it would hurt their car against conviction/removal.

Are you trying to draw an analogy to malicious prosecution?

I disagree

Even if the analogy of impeachment to criminal prosecution is an imperfect one, we have a tradition in this country that the person making an accusation must carry the burden of proof.

Yeah except for the fact that there are records of his crimes. The transcript proves his guilt. Add in the fact that he withheld the funds the same day of the phone call? Yeah, that's what he didn't want people testifying about. Also, I'd be amazed if you could define communism without having to Google it.
This must be a trolling alter.

There were 18 witnesses and the Senate heard from 17 of them.

Why didn’t they hear from #18?

Honestly, reading this board, I’m starting to understand and appreciate the need for voter suppression. Someone this god damn dumb should never be allowed anywhere near a voting booth. Luckily his boss as at the Kum&Go probably won’t let him have the day off to vote anyhow.

First, this is a political process, not a legal one.

Second, if it were a legal process, there are things called litigation privilege and prosecutorial immunity.

Wow, you really are stupid. He does not have to comply with the subpoenas even though he probably should have but that’s a moot point. If the house really wanted to hear witnesses they should have taken it to court as opposed to retracting the subpoenas. You don’t understand how this shite works and you need to shut up because you are making yourself look very idiotic.
