No more constitutional amendments until we...
1. Start using the one we have.
2. Figure out which public bathroom we're supposed to take a piss in.

Yeah, Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler and Schumer are leading the charge.

Mornin' Hankster. So this isn't necessarily "grandstanding"....it's merely "starting a conversation". Albeit an ostentatious conversation, perhaps.

This proposal is pure grandstanding.
Both parties have been subject to what they feel are partisan (one correct one incorrect) impeachment’s in the last 4 presidencies, perhaps there is some interest if the democrats can see beyond the end of their nose

That should deter partisan impeachments

This is true.

Was that not the complaint of the president's counsel? That they wasted everyone's time with a less-than-thorough work product?

And that should have been addressed in the previous impeachment inquiry. But it wasn't.

No, that was the complaint of the republican Senators, who didn't want to tie the Senate down for months doing the House's job for them. The President's council argued that even it the rumors about Bolton's testimony are true, it is still not an impeachable offense.

The grandstanders are coming out of the woodwork.
So you're ok with impeachment requirements being merely who controls the house at the time?

That’s what they have always been. All three impeachments have been bullshite, and the Senate has ended all three, as intended.

The system worked, the accused was acquitted and became stronger because of it. That should deter partisan impeachments in the future. My point being is that 3 times in US history now it has made the President stronger. It always backfires. Let them try it again. No sense cutting Wile E.Coyote's credit line with Acme.
While I agree that it helped Trump in this instance, it's a gross abuse of power and a tremendous waste of taxpayer funds and resources. There's no telling how many millions of dollars that this and the Muller hoax have wasted. They are supposed to be there to do the business of the people, not to use the power of the government as their own vendetta hit squad.

The dems are already trying to do it again

Scott's amendment would require a super-majority of three-fifths of the House of Representatives in order to approve articles of impeachment, instead of the current standard which is a simple majority.
An impeachment, being the solemn duty it is, should require more than just a simple majority. A president shouldn't be impeached on something so minor. The QPQ was a flimsy accusation. Of all the things the libs hitched their horse to, I'm actually surprised they landed on this one.

you appear to be stating a fact.
NOt that I necessarily support it, but is there some codified reason why they can't subpoena Bolton now? I mean, there will be twitter and political consequences if they pursue it, but is there something preventing it?

Why would this proposal lack bipartisan support?

I like the idea, but it should be 2/3rds.
This also would've stopped the Clinton impeachment as well.

I'd rather put other items up such as line item veto, audit the Fed, forensic accounting on foreign aid, defund Planned Parenthood and any other organizations that get tax dollars & donate to D.C. politicians.
Democrats aren't passing any of that either. SCUM

Executive Privilege may impede the effort's success.

Not being hypocritical partisan hacks who ignore House and Constitutional rules? But then again it's proggies we're talking about so never mind. That's kind of their thing.
