What are some jobs that pay more than most people would expect?

My wife was in restaurant management for years and it pays more than most people would expect but the hours are terrible and you deal with a lot of pissy people. She has now in grocery management and we never would have thought it pays what it does before she started.

Manager at Kinko's back in the 90s.
Salary wasn't great but 10% of the store profit brought salary over 100k
Obviously not the case across all locations but in Dallas, NY and other bigger cities yes

I’ve heard they make around 150K. Grocery managers can make close to 100k before managers. Shoot assistant managers usually make 65-70 before bonuses.

Trashman.
Small bank I worked for in Tulsa basically did all the financing for the trucks and scooters for all the trash companies. So I saw all the financials, including payroll and benefits.
Union and contracts with municipalities and then private citizens...trash collectors got paid close to 6 figures/year 20 years ago.

Walmart store manager.
Had a friend knocking out $250-260K 20 years ago. Most of it in year end bonus.
Last kid went to college and they downsized.
Free and clear house they sold was 5800 sq. ft that sat on 5 acres. Had a game room, Olympic sized swimming pool and horse stables.
