Right around the time I tuned 18 so 1996. I remember some rumor that it was overturned and all the bars let everyone drink that night but it was indeed fake news.

I was legal to buy when I was 18 all the way thru 21 when it changed. Trying to find the year online and coming up empty. I'm 47

It didn't really matter for years anyway. We went to bars and drank and nobody cared.
