Oh shite I know the guys at Watson Grinding. Bought a lot of their valves for off shore equipment applications when I was at NOV. Good dudes. Hope they have good insurance

It was the Astros letting a guy at bat in Japan know it’s a curve ball

I think the gas line just ran under their business, it wasn’t theirs...the leak just happened to occur there and eventually enough gas accumulated and found a spark. So the question is who owned the pipeline and was responsible for maintaining it.

Imagine if this happened a couple hours later. There’d probably be a lot more people unaccounted for.

Think I felt a tremor in New Orleans, might’ve just been a train going by though.
ETA: guess I’ll check myself in as safe on Facebook just to be sure

This place seems like a den of LSU faithful. It’s mentioned quite a bit on here.

Felt it in Bridgeland. Can’t imagine what it looks like around the explosion area

There’s just no way that can be accurate.
We can smell it outside.

There’s a video on Facebook that’s from a security camera showing the blast and then a few seconds later the shockwave knocks the camera down.
Little explosion

I work around here. Can confirm through LSU truck stickers, LSU scrubs at the hospital, LSU flags outside of houses, etc.

I'm work for a large pipeline company now so I hope it wasn't pipeline related. The previous quote stated that it was a propylene tank that exploded.
quote:
Other small explosions were reported at the facility, which was identified by KTRK as Watson Grinding and Manufacturing, a machining and manufacturing company. The facility owner told KTRK that a propylene tank was believed to have exploded.

That doesn’t nesseccarily make it hazardous to breathe. It’s poor wording, the fire dept just means it’s not toxic / poisonous / going to kill you if you breathe.
