Climate alarmists rejoice
Some climate alarmists are actually advocating for a massive plague event

SARS killed 1 in 10 people infected; MERS 1 in 3. Wuhan is killing about 1 in 30 people infected, mainly old people or people with other health issues.
So, we're going to just ignore that:
1. Infection rate could be substantially higher.
2. A mutation could increase mortality rate very quickly

I'm headed to cvs for some masks. I'm also gonna stop showering so people keep their distance from me

3. This could be overblown like the last 4 pandemic events on this board

So about .863% of Earth's population will die?
That number is actually staggering when you consider that the total number of deaths in an 18 month period is about 85 Million and the single leading disease cause, heart disease Accounts for roughly 22.5 million in 18 months.
This would be the leading cause of death (other than possibly malnutrition) and would nearly double the world mortality rate. It wouldn't end the world but it would definitely be devastating.

Isn’t it a strong immune reaction that often kills with these?

I wonder what is the level of effectiveness on those paper masks.
If the shite hit the fan level pandemic hit, those paper masks would be as useful as a wet paper bag.

I think you would be surprised. And wouldnt you rather have rubber gloves and paper masks than not have anything at all?

Ever since the Zika scam I have become very dubious of these so called pandemics. I fail to see what the big deal is with this, other than the 24 hour news cycle is bored with impeachment nonsense and needs a new shiny object to chase...

Well, it was first reported to the WHO Dec 31, and it is now spreading human to human with deaths.
This is a fast moving virus.

So tell me a time in recent history where a country shut down travel and quarantined 11 million people (twice the population of Houston)?
Edit: I'm sorry I was wrong, 4 times the population of the Greater Houston area.
And specifically a country like China that does its best to hide everything.

A lot more than that died on the Oregon Trail. Hell I died 100 times on that simulation.

Fixed. Yes, 20+ million now and spreading. They even shut down anything to do with their New years. That ain't good.
