You know that what good he did is overshadowed by the bad he did?
I mean we know he plagiarized his doctorate, he didn't like gay people, and according to the sealed FBI documents he had over 40+ affairs, plus watched a rape unfold.

Renewed attention to racism and discrimination has prompted the reassessment of historical giants from Andrew Jackson to Woodrow Wilson, Winston Churchill to Gandhi. Sexual harassment revelations have felled a forest of cultural, political and business bigshots. Tasteless jokes, dubious comments or ill-advised tweets have led to scores of people being fired from prominent positions.

The most shocking claim Garrow relates is that King was present in a hotel room when a friend of his, Baltimore pastor Logan Kearse, raped a woman who resisted participating in unspecified sexual acts. The FBI agent who surveilled the room asserted that King “looked on, laughed and offered advice.” Other allegations include that King’s philandering—long known to be extensive—was even more rampant than historians knew; that King took part in group sex; that King may have fathered a child with one of his mistresses; and—less pruriently—that King continued taking money from his onetime ally Stanley Levison, a Communist Party member, even after he was supposed to have broken off ties.

Didn't think it'd take until lunch to get the first "actually MLK was bad" threads.

I have brought this up before but people want to ignore what a horrible person he actually was and just resort to calling you a racist for pointing it out.
His personal actions don't discount his accomplishments apparently. Yet somehow they do with Trump. Crazy how that works.

He wasn't bad and brought some good points but in today's world, he wouldn't be seen the same way. Especially with his views towards women, gay couples, and lying.

One thing that people will claim is that the sexual stuff is coming from "one guy". Well, that one guy is probably the world's foremost MLK historian who had written award winning books about MLK prior to his latest, most controversial. He was celebrated before he discovered what was in the sealed FBI files, and now he is vilified.

Why? History says General Lee was a bad person because he fought for the south even though he was against slavery and that George Washington was a bad person because he owned 200+ slaves.

If blacks and whites are equal shouldn’t we stop celebrating MLK?

MLK Jr. spoke of the "content of their character". The people in our culture who actually give other people the "Columbus treatment" have already discredited that racistsexisthomotransphobic concept. It's all about physical characteristics now- some people are inherently virtuous (victims) and other people are inherently destructive (euro/white/Christian oppressors) based on something far more biologically basic than character. That being the case, his reputation (is) will be destroyed from the "tolerant" Left, not from his "racist" Right and this has already begun.

The issue being that Hoover's FBI is responsible for most of the information.
Dude probably fricked around, not surprising.
