Didn't he give a pretty controversial speech that many at the time saw as support for Ho Chi Minh and the Viet Cong?
I'm sure there were several people that characterized it that way. Here's text of that speech. I see no words in it that are in support of the Viet Cong.
The Atlantic
Unless there's another speech you're talking about.

Society and what is socially acceptable has changed more since Hitler than it has since MLK obviously. It's not fair to judge based on what was socially acceptable at the time vs what is now. Sadly killing jews was accepted in society at the time. However, what MLK did was never at any point considered socially acceptable. It is all deplorable by any standards but if you are going to compare then the whole picture needs to be accounted for.

Your entrie argument is dismissing what MLK did because of his private personal life.
You create an either/or that because he had personal failures what he accomplished should be dismissed.
The exact definition of misrepresenting the argument because it is easier to defeat. Better known as a strawman.

haha my god dude, you're actually saying that fricking around on your wife is worse than OWNING SLAVES
Didn’t you yourself post that you can’t really judge what’s worse? Societal norms are always changing. If you ask if owning slaves is worse than fricking around on your wife TODAY, then the answer is a resounding yes.

Actually it isn't. I want him to be judged the same as others is all. I even said that his accomplishments outweigh his personal failures in my very first post. My argument is that he shouldn't be revered as a saint and if we are going to condemn others and rename streets, schools, and tear statues based on standards of today then he should be given the same treatment.
I am not a fan of erasing history that has become the norm FYI.

For some, like Dr. King and myself, women are the drug of choice.

He's a Bernie bro that is angry at rich white men and is for wealth redistribution. Tells you all you need to know about him.

Then shouldn't your stance be that he shouldn't have his name removed just because of personal failures?
I don't get what you mean by 'he should be given the same treatment'

I'm not angry at rich white men I'm angry at all rich people #equality

I mean either we're ok with the personal flaws of our previous leaders or we aren't. If we condemn others then we need to condemn MLK too but we don't. Care to guess why?

who's to say which is worse? really who can say. not me tbh
still sitting here in a dream-like stupor that anyone could read this post and not realize it was sarcastic
although I'm a website with a 5,000 page, three-year Q Anon thread.... so maybe I expect too much.

Angry at rich people? That is sad, no reason to be angry at them when you could earn it yourself
Posted on 1/20/20 at 12:41 pm to stout
On the flip side you seem to want to crucify MLK while defending the rest as 'a product of their time.'
You have to stay consistent in your stance if you are going to throw stones at others for flip flopping on the subject.
I get it, people are hypocrites on excusing certain behavior if they like the figure.
