Has anyone on here ever been to a Notre Dame football game in South Bend?

Clemson travels to South Bend this fall. I’ll be traveling from either Greensboro or Charlotte. Where do people typically fly in and stay for the weekend? Thanks.

I go to two or three a year, living here. South Bend has a decent enough regional airport you can fly into but you may have to get a connection. If you want a direct flight you'll go to Ohare and drive 90 minutes to get here.
There are half a million hotels of every brand within 10 miles of campus. I would recommend staying on the Grape road area in Mishawaka. There's good food and mediocre shopping there. Let me know if you have any more specific questions.

Can’t you fly into Chicago and take a train to South Bend?
That seems pretty fun.

Fly directly into SBN. The doubletree is a nice place with easy enough access to get to campus.

Flew into Chicago. It’s a pretty easy drive to South Bend or I’m sure there will be buses coming I from the city. Great trip and experience and I absolutely recommend it to anyone else.

I’ve never been to a game there, but I dated a chick that went to ND when I was in college and that’s what I did when I visited her, it is kinda fun.

Midway would be closer.

Notre Dame might be undefeated coming into that game.
Notre Dame's only games on a college campus will be in South Bend. The Irish will play more games in Europe than on an opponents' campus. They play in 5 different stadiums that hosted NFL teams this season.
"Road Games" in 2020
week 1 in Dublin Ireland
week 5 in Bank America Stadium (Panthers)
week 6 in Lambeau Field (Packers)
week 8 in Heinz Field (Steelers)
week 12 in Mercedes Benz Stadium (Falcons)
week 14 in Memorial Coliseum (Rams)

Went for the Texas game several years ago.
Stay in Chicago, get tickets for Bus2NotreDame (LINK /). Refreshments included on the bus and a tailgate setup once you get to South Bend.
Bunch of us from Shaggy Bevo (RIP) traveled to South Bend that way.

There's literally nothing in South Bend except Notre Dame. Might even be cheaper to fly into Midway than SB. Certainly more things to do in Chicago.

South Bend, outside of the University, is kind of a shite hole to be honest. I've been to a football game back in '97 and again this summer to watch Liverpool play at ND stadium. I couldn't believe how unkept the businesses were around there. Grass/weeds were literally waste high at some businesses. They were actually opened too. Doesn't seem like they put much into the town outside of ND.
