Kinchen’s run against A&M, 1990, age 7.
LINK
The game of football, the objectives, the strategy in one moment all of a sudden made sense, and I knew the Tigers were my team.

Does anyone else remember such a moment, either from their childhood or otherwise?

I decided I wanted to start watching football and they were the local team

It's grown a lot from there

December 1978 Wyoming game, my dad took the family with his season tickets that he had for clients, my first game live. Hokie ran the opening kickoff back for a TD and Charlie Alexander broke 4000 yards, the Tiger Nation lost their minds that night.

I wasn’t a football fan growing up, but my older brother was.

He was fascinated with this freshman Herschel Walker and wanted to watch the Sugar Bowl. As a follower, so did I.

Herschel was awesome that game and I asked my grandmother, “Who is our team?” She said, “LSU”. I became a fan at that moment.

But I did ask “Do we have a Herschel Walker?” I saw flashes in Hilliard-James, Harvey Williams, Kevin Faulk, Cecil Collins, Justin Vincent, Joseph Addai etc until I finally found an almost identical Herschel clone in Leonard Fournette. Too bad CFB was no longer a RB-centric game by the time I found him.

When I was a kid at home, late '60s/early '70s, we rarely saw the Tigers on tv, usually just the national Saturday afternoon game on ABC. But the radio at home was always tuned to the game when the Tigers were playing.

I remember many nights sitting with my dad and sometimes my older sisters listening. I had an older brother who was at LSU in the late '70s; he was always talking about how awesome Tiger Stadium was and he was gonna take me to a game but somehow he never did swing it.

Finally got to go to my first game in 1982. Been going as often as I could ever since. The first time my brother and I attended a game together, the tickets were on me!

From the day I was born into LSU fandom, circa 1961.

Dad had season tickets from after the 1958 season until he transferred ownership to me. He only missed 2 home games in 45? years of LSU football.

I was a casual fan growing up. Watched games when it was convenient, knew all the big names, etc... Started dating a girl who's dad has badass season tickets in early 2012. First game I attended was 2012 Alabama, and was hooked like a crack addict(in spite of the outcome). Married the girl(oh yeah, no pics) and have been attending games ever since, including last Monday. Still can't believe it took me so long to make it down to Death Valley having grown up in Louisiana.

I can’t remember all the details but I can tell you I was pretty much at every home game past the age of 5. And I too can say it was those TX A&M games growing up that got me hooked. I remember wanting heat those mofos SO bad and that’s when I knew I could start feeling that LSU blood in my veins.

In 1988, my buddy's dad took us to see LSU beat Ole Miss. The crowd was packed, probably 70k or so in the stadium. We were on the 45. The crowd railing against Ole Miss sucked me in and I was sold.

I grew up in the country, so we didn't have cable, so no hope of seeing any games that weren't over the air. I didn't get to watch many games, but I sure listened to a lot on WWL.

Theres photos of me in Tiger gear as a toddler.

When I truly became a fan on my own was when my brother went to LSU as a walk-on. In two years, he never made the field. Poor dumb bastard turned down rides at Tech and another LA school to give it a shot at LSU. That was mid 90’s
