I also clean with water, but first I use a soft bristled paint brush to brush away as much as I can with out damaging the mushrooms
re: Gumbo makes me feel awful - is it the type of sausage I’m using?

I am 54, and have had the same issues in the past. I am also a chef, and have made 100's of gumbos, and stumbled across a technique that has made gumbo nice to my gut. First, I believe that many people have gluten issues to some degree, and the amount of flour in roux is a lot. So I started using cassava flour, the texture and flavor is perfect. Second, and I know some will disagree with this, but when I add my stock to the roux/trinity, I intentionally cause it to separate. Then I skim off all of the fat that comes to the top, until I get the same amount out that I put in. Then I let the gumbo simmer and add meats, whatever. I also skim the fat that comes up from the meat. The results are identical to traditional gumbo but I don't feel like crap after eating. I know people say fat is flavor, but I think fat is the vehicle for flavor, and once it's done it's job, pull it out. Fat is very hard to digest.
Dennis Allen? He will probably be available soon, easy commute for him.

Refs-poetic justice

Because of no fouls called, we aren't in the bonus with a small lead at the end of the game, so FL can't get the ball back, clock keeps running! Thanks refs!
Once Matt Ruhle throws Joe B under the bus, he will be ready to come back to BR as OC, let's go...

Chef Paul's recipe is a good one and your pics look awesome. I tried it using boneless beef short ribs. sliced thin, it came out pretty amazing.

they must not have the 3 second rule in college basketball anymore because #14 is having his mail delivered to the lane now
You can peel the outside layer of strings from the celery stalk, using a vegetable peeler. It helps the celery break down in the cooking, leaving the flavor needed but not as much texture.
re: Watching this game I am very impressed with Cinci’s defense.

GA went 7-2 in the SEC, and had a top 5 recruiting class in 2019, compared to Cincinnati’s class ranking in the 60’s. I’d say scheme and coaching is looking pretty good.

I don't think any of you realize what this would mean. 82nd is no joke, there will be a body count. It is a blunt instrument and doesn't discriminate.
Here is a YouTube channel for a guy who lives near me in Woodbridge VA. He’s a young guy, in his 30’s, who contracted at the CPAC. Not sure why everyone thinks this virus only hits old/immune compromised people. Take a few minutes, watch and learn. Until they come up with a treatment or vaccine, it’s going to be tough.

Or he might contract it and possibly get an infection in his lung, causing permanent damage, as reports from around the world are starting to show. At least he will still be able to play golf.
re: Offseason (holy crap) thread: anyone remember the precise moment they became an LSU fan?

December 1978 Wyoming game, my dad took the family with his season tickets that he had for clients, my first game live. Hokie ran the opening kickoff back for a TD and Charlie Alexander broke 4000 yards, the Tiger Nation lost their minds that night.
I jokingly told my buddy just before halftime that they needed to put Devin White on Etienne the rest of the game. Queen stepped up and did just that, he is turning into an elite player.

re: What is it that makes LSU football so important to us

I grew up in one of those BR neighborhoods that was built around a golf course. On those cool Saturday nights in the fall, we could ride our bikes around the cart paths and hear people in their carports, sitting in lawn chairs, listening to the game on their radios or watching on tv. You could hear Ferguson’s voice and everybody cheering in unison on big plays. Some people would cook, others just drank and smoked, but those smells were incredible. We’d stop in to listen/watch/eat (or sneak a beer) with everybody we knew. I joined the Boy Scouts just so I could sign up to usher the games and get in for free. As I got older I was able to enjoy the game day experience on campus. I don’t know how to not love LSU football.
