Might not work with Raymond though.

Yeah, Richard is a CB coach and someone would have to coach LBers would they not?

Wasn’t Bush a DB coach?

So much so that they let him go. I credit the LOB to Dan Quinn personally.

Yeah, I don't see how this is a homerun hire.

Not saying it wouldn't work out, but I don't see it as some slam dunk thing.

He was in charge of installing the defense against passes... really not that hard to grasp

That's that extra spot, so-to-speak, Busch coaches "safeties", but many believe he functions as assistant DC.

If that dude wants on this staff you fricking do it. He was a part of the formation of the Legion of Boom.

Explain why after only 2 season of being a DC that he had to take a big step down?

I am genuinely asking. If he was so great in such a brief amount of time then why didn't anyone else hire him? Why was he let go?

How about Richard as DC and safeties and hire Trev Faulk to coach linebackers.

my only question would be his ability to recruit
Watch the video linked above. No question he could recruit.

Would be a homerun hire. This is who I have been saying I wanted for the past day. He was great in Seattle as their DB coach and was really good in Dallas his first season there. This past season production went a little bit down, but I think it was more of a cowboy problem. A lot of people thought he could have become an NFL head coach last season. He’s really young, and modern. You would have to think he would be a tremendous recruiter and guys would be lining up to play for him too.

With Busch gone we can let Raymond coach all the DBs again and get a LB coach.

Is Busch gone? I mean, there is a genuine risk that Busch and Raymond could both leave if they get passed over for DC.

Yet he led the defense to the no 1 in points allowed as D coordinator after Dan left...
Well yeah, after everything was set in place. Then what happened when that wore off? Seattle fired him!!!

Dude took over the best scoring defense in the league and got worse every year. He was let go after his 3rd season as DC. No thanks, next!

We have nothing upon which to base this. He hasn't had a college job other than GA (USC 2008 - 2009). While he might take to it, you just don't know until you know.

Xs and Os, again, he is one of Carroll's proteges and performed well in the NFL for stretches. The way it ended in Seattle and the quick hook in Dallas are red flags, but almost any guy one would get from the NFL will have red flags.

Well you didn’t look hard enough.

Dallas has been one the top pass defending defenses the past few years. Their D Line was a big problem, that has nothing to do with Richard. They didn’t sign or big in anyone and Demarcus Lawrence is inconsistent. We have the D line and secondary to be elite.

He was a DC for 3 seasons in Seattle

Every coach has been fired before in this era

There’s a reason the cowboys let him go and nobody in the NFL is blowing his phone up to hire him.
Exactly, and the Seahawks as well.

Carroll is a former DC and has had elite defenses for most of his tenure in Seattle, including before Richard took over.

Why is Richard getting so much credit?

This would be as good of a hire as you could expect on short notice, at least on paper. Hopefully, we can get him and keep him for a couple of years.

He was 1st, 3rd, then 13th. And to be fair in 2017 the whole LOB took a step back. Chancellor and Sherman both missed half the year, Byron Maxwell missed 9 games. That shite happens when you lose 3 all pro guys for half of your games

ETA even earl thomas missed 2 games. He was still top half of the league without basically the entire legion of boom for a good portion of the year
