Brockmire - The Funniest Show Not Enough People Are Watching

In an era where comedy is being killed by the cancel culture, Brockmire has found a fertile vein of inappropriate humor to mine, commenting on today's society through the filter of alcoholism and sexual depravity.
The first 3 seasons are on Hulu, the 4th and final season is on IFC in March.

I find it to be hit or miss.

Loved season 1. Season 2 was up and down. Didn't watch season 3...how was it?

I'm about halfway through season 3 and think it's funny enough that I started this thread.

“Julia James with the surprise finger in the keister, and Brockmire is into it. Oh man, the old fastball sign makes for a real snug butt plug.”

Season 1 was good
Season 2 was okay
Season 3 wasn't.
Hope season 4 is better.

Any thoughts on S4? Taking place in the future has been pretty meh, but he had one of the great lines of the series.
Full confession, I just finished watching a Law & Order marathon, then turned on Brockmire and he was describing Jerry Orbach to someone:

Sober Brockmire is just not as funny. I'm still watching though.

This past season has been so bad.
I mean, I loved the earlier seasons, and now I can't even finish it.
First time I've given up on watching the end of a show since The Walking Dead.

“Are you saying what I think you’re saying?”
“You’re more likable when you’re dunk.”
“You know, those are the words that deep down in their heart, every alcoholic longs to hear.”

Season 4 takes place in one of the bleakest dystopian futures I have ever seen on television. Truly truly terrifyingly plausible.
My reviews:
Season 1: Excellent, a near perfect season
Season 2: good, it wasn’t quite as perfect as the first season but did a good job balancing over the top debauchery with comedy and moments of real emotional punch
Season 3: not good. pretty much just sad, but also...uplifting...? Definitely not funny hardly at all, and really poured the preachiness on heavy.
Season 4: very good. SUPER dark and bleak, but with this excellent laughing through the graveyard vibe. Way funnier than season 3, and far more emotional than season 2’s wacky Hangover vibe. It felt like a series finale that finally found a way to pair the humor and chemistry between characters of the first season with the emotional depth and social commentary of the later seasons without feeling like you’re being sermoned at by proud citizen of the CHAZ. Warning, the first episode starts off looking like some progressive reddit troll’s wet nightmare where all their terrible predictions came true, but rather than beat us over the head with social commentary, they just use that world for punchline after punchline.

Actively despise hank azaria as an actor.

Enjoyed the first two seasons. Season three just wasn’t funny. It was pretty sad and started to feel preachy. Worried that season four will go full social commentary and have no humor. The IMDb ratings (for what those are worth) drop off for season four. For those who have watched them all and enjoyed the first couple of seasons, is it worth finishing the series?

Bump.made me wish it was still 2020. Anyway I thought the first season or at least the first few episodes of Brockmire was some of the funniest TV I'd ever seen

I showed this show to one of my friends back in 2017 when it first came on and he didn't think it was funny.
Flash forward to just the other day, and he asks the group chat "have you guys seen Brockmire? Really funny."
