Smart move is to just let this go (assuming there are no casualties) and let them have their “revenge.” Then de-escalate. No one wins wars.

You have about 10 posts in this thread for me to pick apart... but I'll start with this one.
The reason the US is so militarily dominant is exactly because we have forces and bases deployed across the world.
I'd venture to say that the world experienced much, much less conflict once the US expanded across the globe because it was a strong deterrent to regional conflicts.
Armchair generals think they know more than the people who actually do this for a living, with mountains of intel that you can't even fathom.

And the reason our bases are everywhere is because they all want our money/aid. They want to kick us out but would raise hell if we cut all funding

These assholes been a problem for the last 40+ something years. Jimmy should of nuked them way back then. These leaders over there has been losing power over their people the last 10 years. So they stir up the pot to keep their self's in power. I'm no rocket man, but I been there and done that shite. This shite just has to stop once and for all. The one that in the past toppled their government, destabilized the region in which they exist, sabotaged their nuclear program, threaten them when they protect their sovereignty.
It's their point of view that the US Army is a terrorist organization.
