Just finished a project in cleveland and they have some amazing almost untouched bowling alleys.

one in particular is called Dickey's. the coolest one though was a private basement at a Slovenian Veteran's Hall.

Milwaukee has so many of these, some dating back over 100 years.

There’s an old school bowling alley out in California near LA but the owner is a crazy a-hole.

I worked with a guy that was big into bowling...He spent most if not all of his work day working on bowling scores and setting up functions for his league...I am completely serious. I think he bowled some where on the westbank..

How can these be old school if you aren't keeping your own score?

Right?

Get the old pencil and paper and project that fuzzy image like they did in junior high in the 80s.

Besides shootin' Commies for Mommy, bowling is one of the most American things you can do.

I'm not talking about the girly candle-pin shite they do in MA. I'm talking about spinning a 16 lb. bowl to pick up a split after your third pitcher.

I'd bowl more if it wasn't so pricey. I played for the first time in years last week and ended up paying $25 for three games and shoes, which lasted about two hours. Bring a date and you're dropping $50 with no food or drink.

Midtown bowl is an old school one for the most part.

Another one I’ll check out.

Much obliged.

I used to love going to Don Carter's back in the day. Wednesday nights quarter night. 25 cent games, shoes and beers.

Southport Lanes in Chicago is a cool old bar with a few lanes. Keep your own score, guy behind the lanes handles the pins and returns the balls. Milwaukee has a really good one in the basement of a bar.

The real question is can anyone still take score by hand or does everyone rely on electronic scoring.

I hate when people rush up and start to send their ball down lane when you’re about to bowl.

Pretty sure they only use the neons and black light stuff on weekends for some of the birthday party time slots. I know they leave the regular lights on during the week for open bowling after leagues are done.

There is one in Mandeville that is old, if not old school. It really needs to be torn down, truly crappy.
