Are Lobbyist Good Or Bad For Government?

This isn't a politics thread, plus you can't have a half arse normal discussion on the politics board.
With that said do you think lobbyist are good or bad for government and the people who live under that government? Or is it not as simple as yes or no?

Lobbyists are bad because they are working for their interests and not the interests of taxpayers. I would say the same about politicians.

They're basically consultants and have very strict controls over what they can and cannot do.

Yes I have been to politics board often.
There are nuts on both sides of the spectrum, but the middle ground people are very informed and intelligent on world matters.

Wrong. It's virtually impossible for registered lobbyists. Palm greasers aren't usually lobby.

Theoretically they do.. But do you honestly think the big ones play by the rules? I am not saying all of them don't play by the rules because I have no idea, but I do know there are some that do not exactly play by the rules.
