Yeah, it's definitely that first question and not your ticket purchases that people get mad about. They'd probably settle for you growing up and accepting them as, ya know, people.
And before some idiot cites population percentages at me, I didn't realize it was now acceptable to think of any group of people, regardless of size of population, as fundamentally repulsive
That said, these reactions are likely for a superhero that will be small, supporting rolein one movie. Marvel is not a progressive entity.

You do realize that people will pay to see a Marvel Studios film even if it's Feige and Iger on tandem toilets taking a synchronized dump. Right?

This would be ok if there were a decent trans hero, but seeing as there isn't for a lot of reasons, this will end up being a terrible rewrite of a hero some people actually like.

there's a guy on the street corner that is clearly talking to himself and standing in a pile of his own feces, while holding a sign that says "I need a beer". he's a person, but at no point do I think "wow, I really need a movie about that guy".
