Why worry or speculate about this now?
No rational person would expect him to be the next Joe Burrow. He doesn't have to be. He just has to be the best Myles Brennan he can be.
He will have an entire spring and summer to develop timing and trust with his receivers. Either he will have the goods to be successful or he won't.

He's to Joe Burrow what Steve Young was to Joe Montana.

He has 9 more months to develop and work with this offense and Brady. He will be good.

I would be happy with that, have same stats at Rohan but less turnovers and less sacks. But defense needs to step up next season. Their first ten games this season was poor effort.

We just witnessed not only the best qb in LSU history, but the most dominant heisman winner in history. It is something that likely won't happen again in our lifetime so people need to temper expectations some after this year. We can expect great play, but to dominate like this is unusual. Whomever our qb is next year is, they deserve everyones full support regardless.

It will be a rebuild year for [Bama] (which probably has a floor of 2 losses based on overall talent) unless a QB really steps up
man, I've heard this all before, many times.

They have stud players sitting on the bench, waiting their turn. And a new set of elite players coming in the fall.

They have great players -- we just don't know their names yet.

Usually, the fans think the best QB on the team is the backup. Burrow was so good, he temporarily stopped that this year. Now, the best QB on the team is a guy who isn't even on the team!

People underestimate Brennan. He is not burrow, but he has a legit throwing arm. He has great coaches around him, and he should put it all together this offseason. I’ve seen him make throws this year that are damn good. I have complete faith in Brennan to be Brennan, and that’s pretty damn good.

Unfortunately we are going to have to be realistic and temper our expectations. We don't have to have a Heisman at QB to compete for the West.

There is a reason it is called a Legacy - Joe is the beginning and the start of Legacy and Myles can't wait for his turn

meh

Nobody expects Brennan to be as good as Joe. And, as good as Burrow has been, LSU has been bad at QB for so long that it's not like the fanbase has forgotten.

Brennan will be critically compared (sometimes unfairly) to the guys holding the clipboard behind him like all QBs.

I feel sorry for this fan base that makes threads about maybe's all the time when we are on the road to a perfect National Championship season with a Heisman winner as our qb. Are threads like this even necessary? Or you just needed to start a thread because you're that bored?

Disagree. He got to play and learn with one of the best. I think he’ll exceed all of our expectations.

Burrow is great but it's also about the system i.e. look at Oklahoma. They've had a top 5 QB for 17/20 years. I think Brennan will be ok , a lot of next years success will depend on if Cushenberry stays.

this is true. But any QB worth his salt isn't going to worry too much about that while at the same time is going to use it as motivation to be better.

One thing worth note is that this system, nay- these coaches with this system, will probably tailor the system itself to his strengths. So while he won't be Burrow and can't be the complete QB he is, he can still be used and use a system that makes him highly successful even if the 'method' of achieving that is different than Burrow.

And this year they had great experienced players

They returned one of their main 2 backs, QB and all WRs from 2018

I'm not saying they'll suck by any stretch. But I don't think their offense will be as lethal

Not aiming this directly at you, but the people who have already decided they're closing the book after Jan. 13 is what REALLY makes me feel sorry for Brennan. Lets pump the breaks a bit.

Poor kid is getting a Ferrari next year. Just because dad is going to yell at him every time he gets behind the wheel for his lane position or driving too fast or driving too slow doesn’t make me feel sorry for him. He gets a Ferrari.
