I wasn't a fan of him being signed. However, he deserves a shot at being the man.
I mean, if he isn't ready to handle business by year three, then what else is there to say. I hope that he lights it up so much, that he is accused of being undeserving of his Heisman - since he is a "system" QB.

It is ridiculous how much people have made up their mind on Myles with no actual tape to base that on.

He hasn't had an offseason running 7 on 7's with the receivers like Joe did last year. That makes a huge difference. Let's see how he does when he is getting first team reps before we start hollering for a replacement.

If he can’t pull it together after 3 years in the program, two years behind a Heisman winner and coaching from the Broyles award winner offensive genius, then he never will. Not to mention his arm is stronger than Joe’s, and his size is comparable.

Yea, but it makes things a lot nicer.

Better protection and Brennen doesn’t have to be a human highlight real before throwing the ball.

The ground game is an inexperienced QBs best friend. The offensive scheme & play calling this season was heavily geared towards the passing game because of all the intangibles Burrow brings to the table. It obvious now that the staff knew Burrow could handle all the intricacies of a sophisticated passing scheme & excel because of his uncanny accuracy.

With Brennan at QB, the offensive philosophy may change a bit in 2020. There's 2 extremely talented RBs to lean on especially early in the season. There's no need to go back to the ground & pound, old offenses but you could definitely see a more balanced offense in terms of run/pass calls to take pressure off of Brennan especially early in the season so that all the pressure isn't placed squarely on his shoulders. Then as the season progresses, the workload or what's expected of him could be increased.

Man, listen if Burrow and co. finish the season strong like most expect and win the Natty, no one expects Brennan to repeat or anything like that. It would just be too much following a season like that with all of the awards and everything, but having a winning season and going to a bowl is realistic, very realistic for him.

Agreed. I'm not so worried about his talent as I am about his leadership skills and confidence he can get through his other offensive players. The game plans he should know by heart. It's the intsngables that worry me.

Yes, I agree, Brennan should only have that 1 season to prove himself anyways, so he should use it on working on himself along with his talent. I think he'll be a senior next season, but he just needs to work on the intangibles and all like you say and the rest will take care of itself. Good post, Peej my man, Meery Xmas and Happy New Year, brah!

So, would you rather bring in D'Eriq King for a season and let Brennan be the guy after the guy?

Brennan will be fine, he saw first hand the work and preparation Joe put in and the results. What mealy mouth fans have to say with be nothing compared to the expectations he’ll have on himself

Maybe Myles will be awesome and put up similar numbers
From what I saw in the aTm game, the coaching staff didn’t really turn him loose and he made some great throws. Now his ability to read defenses and check off will come with time as the bell cow ...

Yall sleepin on Parish. Kid can ball and will compete for that starting spot.
Hasn't played in a game yet. Oh, he can "Ball" because of how's he's looked in practice and high school.

Max Johnson is a very smart QB that's the son of an NFL QB; been coached up since he was a kid. He's already advanced at reading defenses and has the pre-requisite arm strength/accuracy. We've only seen his high school highlights though.

Can he "Ball" enough to compete for the starting job? Nobody knows at this point?

If you can't make quick decisions, throw the ball with accuracy and read defenses, you're not going to be successful in this Offense......

Statistically Steve Young was a better QB than Joe Montana. Hope you're right.

Depends on which statistic is important to you. Wins or "stats"?

Joe Montana posted a 117-47 regular season record over the course of his career.

Steve Young posted a 94-49 regular season record over the course of his career.

Joe Montana posted a 16-7 record in the postseason over the course of his career.

Steve Young posted a 8-6 record in the postseason over the course of his career.

Joe Montana posted a 133-54 record during the entirety of his career.

Steve Young posted a 102-55 record during the entirety of his career.

In terms of wins and losses, it's simple mathematics. Joe Montana was the better QB.
