Dr. Robert Jeffress (NOT a fundamentalist) said that President Obama is not the anti-Christ; when the anti-Christ comes he will have much higher poll numbers. And the same can be said about President Trump.

CT doesn’t want a Democrat, they just don’t want Trump. If Trump were removed, Pence would become President who everyone can agree is a much more moral man than Trump.

Maybe so, but did CT go on the record regarding Obama's promotion of policies that surely CT disagrees with? Abortion, the absence of personal responsibility, etc.?

They were intended to be humorous and thought provoking.

If I had intended to be maladroit it would have been someone from the Koran but not from one of the books in the Koran that used to be in the Bible.

As to Jesus being homely, the good book is specific when a person is attractive so to not describe Jesus this way seems to indicate a fall (same way my grandmother said if you could not say something nice, don't say anything at all. If he was a Jew (which he was) he could at least be viewed as the first Rabbi.

If our man Jesus was a nerd, then imagine if Jiffro was Jesus and Bowfinger was God.

Steve Martin can pick a mean banjo and I think of God as a banjo picker or a accordion player.

May your Christmas be filled with polka music or banjo music. Snappy and hard to get depressed when it is playing.

So I gave you a list of things he did as POTUS and you did not reply to them. Nice to see you are so clouded that you ignore the facts.

I’m on my phone riding down the interstate.

It occurred to me I could debate Jimmy Carter being a smart man and a good moral leader then i remembered, I’m driving down the interstate discussing Jimmy Carter.

/thread.

So, Whatever you choose to believe about Jimmy makes no difference to me. Maybe I’ll feel different tomorrow and take the hook. However, at this time - To debate a fool about a fool is foolish.

They certainly were both.

Maladroit was a tad strong under the circumstances. One might even say my use of it was, well, maladroit. It's such a neat word not often used and apparently I rashly did so and poorly. Your follow up leads me to wonder if "cerebral" might have served better.

That being said, Respecting Jesus's physical appearance, I'll continue hang my hat on Isaiah 53:2.
quote:

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
Taking that to be saying, among other things, Jesus was neither so handsome or ugly that people were repulsed by or drawn to him because of his looks alone.

Probably most other Christians don't believe that. And some of them have finally been moved to action.

It's been my impression that you are a liar and you pull shite out of your arse.

Nobody believes this is some "soul searching Christian" coming to this conclusion. It is a kook like you who wormed his way into the position.

Yeah, poster's impression about belief --> Trump --> Antichrist --> bring about end times.....never heard that one. But I DID hear that belief voiced more than a few times about Trump's predecessor.

It is not what you or I believe, it is a list of facts. Now if you refuse to admit fact and try to deflect by ending the discussion or calling me a fool, then perhaps you may be the fool and resorting to throwing shade elsewhere in the hope of taking the direct fire like a man.

As to deflection, perhaps this link might help educate some not so fooled by the fool in the White House

Deflection, by definition, is a method of changing the course of an object, an emotion or thought from its original source. Psychological deflection is seen as a narcissistic abuse tactic used to control the mind and emotions of others.

Maybe you deflection tactics work on weaker minds, but my mind is not weak or easily manipulated.

While you see it as average I might view that as proof he was below average physically but it was offset by what was inside.

Beauty is skin deep, ugly goes straight to the bones.

If you are the son of god then a humble form would be perfect cover for a beautiful heart. The shallow would underestimate you and the deep would see the true form. Kids today seem all about the surface and not so much about the character within.

While not accordion or banjo, I am old enough to appreciate some old time fiddle playing too.

Enjoyed all of the links, particularly and always anything of The Lawrence Welk Show.

Accordion. Fiddle.

If human creativity is a dim reflection of the Almighty's creativity that's shrouded and off kilter because of our fallen nature-what must that say about the infinite magnificence of God?

Bluegrass

It's hard to get the mind around it.

I sketched out a skit once that never went anywhere insofar as I know parodying Charlie Daniels. Part of the dialogue-"I'll bet you didn't know it, but I'm an accordion player too".
You get the gist.

Christianity Today's foolish editorial notwithstanding, I'll leave you with these gifts, and wish you and yours Merry Christmas on this eve of the fourth Sunday of Advent.

That and Hee Haw!

Good clean variety shows with lots of entertainment value and content.

I was raised on Bluegrass (Johhny Niles used to sing at our house on Sundays after church and meal) and Gospel (old 4 and 6 part a cappella harmony with both black and white singers).

Kids today have no idea how beautiful real voices can be, especially when they are well trained and better understanding of their trade.

I’m no longer driving down the interstate, so let me just say this again, to argue with a fool about a fool is foolish.

I get it, Carter is your hero. His track record says he’s an idiot. So, whatever you choose to accept as your reality is fine with me.

Look, if you are trolling me, that is cool, just fess up and move on. If you really believe what you believe without showing inaccuracy with any of my points about his person or presidency means the fool is you.
