McConnell lost this battle to Pelosi

This is exactly why I said the Senate GOP needed to hold a trial and call all the witnesses damaging to the Dems and embarrass them. Just dismissing the charges would give Dems the narrative they’re using now, and even worse Mitch’s dumbass tipped his hand allowing Pelosi to hold the articles.
The result: Trump doesn’t get vindicated in any way. Dems get to set the narrative and hold impeachment over Trump while the spineless GOP sits on their hands. frick the whole lot of them.
Only solution now is to hold the trial and destroy the Democrats during it

You're wrong. Pelosi cannot control what the Senate does or doesn't do. She thinks she holds the cards, but Mitch, with a majority, can do whatever he wants.

I think it would have been better to pretend a trial would be held then just dismiss the charges.
I don’t think it will change the opinion of voters, I just think it was a stupid move by Mitch politically because he could have destroyed the Dems even more but he is trying to give them a lifeline to cling to

they were not sending to Senate without agreed upon "rules" that favored dems.
look at the original Law Fare tactic of not following the normal "impeachment Inquiry" procedures. they have not selected "managers"
their sole goal of impeachment was to conduct a never ending "trial" in the senate where they would call never ending witnesses, and they believe they can get any and all executive privilege and his tax returns as part of that process.
it would be one giant fishing expedition and a non-stop anti-trump campaign add to paint him as corrupt.
Mitch saying or not saying anything would not have changed this tactic....

What you fail to understand is that the country doesn't give a shite. They think Trump probably did something wrong because Trump is reckless and couldn't give a frick about what's appropriate and what isn't.
That said, they still don't care and don't want whatever it is the Democrats are selling.
There would be no vindication for Trump because the public doesn't give a shite about that either. The only people who look at the 4 reasons and the witness statements and OMG if you carry the 2 and look at it from the right angle Hunter Biden is Hitler are the most loyal 20% of Trump supporters.
This is two wings fighting it out and the middle of the country doesn't care. Ultimately, that's good for Trump, but the Trump loyalists need to avoid the mistakes of the Democratic crazies and not oversell.

Courts will intercede. Pelosi cannot hold the articles for a significant period. Mitch won't push it until Congress reconvenes in January. But at that point, if Nervous Nancy is continuing to stall, all hell will break loose.

Yep... This is like the "Boy who cried wolf". Everyone now knows none of this was serious or real. The voters will see this for what it is/was a huge political stunt that cost a shite load of tax payer money.
She would have been better off quietly finding 15 Dems in the House to vote present and kill it there.
