I said this on the rant, but that just blows my mind. They're in L.A. with a rich football tradition - more than any other school in the conference by far. Theres no excuse for recruiting to be that bad.

Their administration has basically said they don't care about football anymore.

Like what happened to Miami.

79. ULL

When looking at it last night, I noticed Arkansas was behind Navy, Army, Air Force, and Harvard. The razorbacks were able to jump them and land at #87.

I mean honestly how hard is it to sell living in Los Angeles for free to high schoolers? Especially at a school with as much tradition as USC.

Not to mention they were 8-4 this year. It's not like that's terrible

They spent the whole year waiting to axe Helton then didn't axe him. He's gonna catch the heat for it but it's more the admins fault.

Fricking ridiculous. Don't know what leadership there is thinking.

The administration doesn't have any interest in football. Just not a priority and if anything seen as openly hostile.

They've pretty obviously said they don't give a shite about football multiple times.

Oregon, the SEC, Clemson, and Ohio State are just piliging California. It's insane. USC doesn't have a single commit in the top 25 California players.

Well nobody is going to sign on to play for Helton. There’s a real possibility that players get worse under him. There are just too many other places to go.

I’m hoping USC’s plan is to stick it out with him until they’re comfortable with the buyout and then go for a huge splash hire.

No matter how low USC gets, they would have a top ~7 recruiting class the SECOND they hired a big name. Urban would sign the #1 class in his second year.

I fail to believe that USC has completely given up of football long term.

All of the recent scandals with the bribery case, gynocologist, and med school dean that are going to lead to hundreds of millions in lawsuits are the focus. The admin likes that Helton is a good guy who isn't going to rock the boat or cause any issues.

The university is completely obsessed with raising money. That's all they really care about.

They lost QBs Bryce Young, from a USC pipeline in Mater Dei, to Bama and DJ Uiagalele, a lifelong USC fan, to Clemson. The President and AD may have crippled that program for a decade.
