How does one raise a substantive defense to a crime that was made up?

HE DIDN'T DO ANTHING.

It doesn't get any more substantive than that. It's their job to make the case that he did something wrong, not his to prove that he didn't.

How can one give a defense to a moving target when you aren’t allowed to call witnesses or present evidence?

Not to mention there wasn't even
made up substantive evidence to go with it. Actually the evidence presented was more substantive as evidence that a crime wasn't committed to begin with. Trump does have better evidence than what was presented though, thought he has transcripts of the phone call along with witnesses that were directly listening in.

You would think so, but the House of Representatives can impeach whenever they feel like for whatever they feel like. It's a purely partisan power that has only been used legitimately one time and that was back in 1998. Andrew Johnson, even though he was a douche, was railroaded by Radical Republicans in 1867-68.

Isn't the burden of proof on the accuser? Didn't Nadler go to law school?

To reference A Few Good Men, Nadler missed the day they taught law in law school

He Obstructed Justice by Abusing his Power and he Abused his Power by Obstructing Justice. How much more circular do I need to get because the Democrats have laid this out ad-nauseum. Sometimes I just don't think people listen to the Democrats arguments close enough.

This is just a rich as “I have not seen or heard any exculpatory evidence.... “

Because you know, Dems prefer you’re guilty unless you can prove your innocence.

Even that at least had some basis in that Johnson arguably broke a law (albeit a bullshite law that had been ramrodded thru and was later declared unconstitutional).

Well, duh. Of course not. You would not allow any defense witnesses to appear and testify.
