published a paper condemning another paper for using the word "supremacy", as violent and racist language. 13 Academics signed onto the condemnation.
The original paper was on "quantum supremacy" as it related to computing power and capabilities over standard computing.Nothing regarding race, violence, or colonialism was covered in the paper.

My issue isn't that the snowflake academics got upset. My issue is that the Science Journal published the shitty, poorly evidenced condemnation.

Wow, they want to be the thought police so bad they can taste it.
A lot of orgs and publications had activists installed in their ranks so they could preach global warming and other things. This is the natural result.
They need to be openly ridiculed as much as possible - rejected by society in general, especially their peers. At least, the handful of legit ones that are left.

Science Journal has been meaning this way for more than a few years now. I quit subscribing five or six years ago when every issue began having articles and papers discussing gender and race and evil wipipo.
It just got out of hand.
I've got a kid, PhD in Psychology, who does the science and data research end of the stuff and even she said they had gone too far and were caving to the special interest groups in her field.
Science is a religion .... many people do not understand that or grasp what it truly means.
Publications like the SJ are their bibles.

“Quantum Supremacy” will not be changed to “Quantum Advantage” because the latter term does not describe the subject concept. It is laughable that anyone would associate the former with a political opinion.
