Hampton Inn at Liberty Park
Newer hotel right by my house. Rooms right at $100. Cool little Mexican place right down the street from there along with a sports bar.

It’s about 10 miles shorter to take I-65 to Montgomery and I-85 to ATL. Also, if you’re going I-59/I-20, there is construction in Tuscaloosa. If you do go that way, the best places to stay and to eat on a drive to ATL are off I-459 around Galleria/Hoover.

If you’re looking for just a pit stop to crash for the night, I’d stay at the Hampton Inn in Leeds.
If you want to experience some night life, I’d stay downtown.

There’s a Hampton Inn in Mountain Brook that would be a good place to just crash on the way to Atlanta.
Do not under any circumstances stay in North Birmingham unless you want us to read about you in the news tomorrow.

Also I-20/59 is closed through downtown and it is a complete mess around there.
Just a heads up.

Stay at the Grand Bohemian in Mountain Brook. Only $409/night right now. That’s a steal.

Just take the Amtrak train to ATL and don’t subject yourself to that awful drive

I’m staying at the Extended Stay America on Carmichael road in Montgomery tonight. It’s right off I-85 on the way to Atlanta. From there it’s just over 2 hours to the Mercedes Benz stadium.

Redmont or Elyton are good options downtown. Plenty of dining and bar options there. The construction on 59/20 shouldnt impact you if leaving early in the morning. It hasnt been as bad as people thought.

Listen to this. That hotel is a few miles from my house. It’s a very nice area and away from the traffic. DO NOT stay in north Birmingham unless you want to get robbed or shot. Also, don’t stay in trussville. It’s out of the way.
Take 59/20 to Bessemer/McCalla then take the 459 loop around Birmingham through Hoover. It’s faster because the overpasses around downtown are down because they’re redoing that whole mess.

You've been warned. Stay away from North or West Birmingham.
Hoover or Homewood. Someplace close to 459.

Marriott Courtyard in Hoover.

In order to maximize your time, I would stay at the start of I20 leaving out of Birmingham towards Atlanta.
There is a Hampton Inn across the street from Bass Pro shops. $97.00 tonight.
Driving over to Hoover is a waste of time and gas.

I forget about this one. Only issue with it is the lack of anything to eat near there. Rusty's BBQ is down the street, but I've never cared for it. The one at Liberty Park is much more convenient in terms of food and entertainment.
