few hotels in bessemer exit literally right before bham. That's a far enough drive tonight.

459. You won’t be near that traffic. Don’t speed on 459. Cops have been out there daily at different places. You may see none, or you may pass 3 in a ten mile stretch.
Stay off John Hawkins (150) in Hoover or HWY 280. If you stay downtown, you will be right in the middle of the roadwork.

Those hotels are after the 20/59-459 interchange. It is well worth driving 10 more minutes. My advice, don’t stay anywhere on 20/59 from exit 106 til about exit 144.
Anywhere on 459 you’re fine. Just trust me on this one.
