Saints SB easily. LSU is my second team in CFB and would still choose Saints over my first team (FSU)

This is a good question. As a person who has experienced the full fandom of 2 LSU NC’s and 1 Saints SB, I’ll tell you this...

The Super Bowl is at least 5 or 6 times more awesome than a NC.

Hands down. The entire state is fired up. The entire region is fired up. National media digs in on it harder and it feels sooooooooo much more massive.

The Super Bowl is the greatest championship in any sport whatsoever.

ETA: I’m an LSU Alum and have lived in BR all my life.

LSU. Saints had their chance the past 2 seasons and blew it both times

I think the better question is...

Who has the most obvious hatred:
The Playoff committee vs LSU or The NFL vs the Saint?

To me, it's pretty obvious the NFL will do anything to keep the Saints from winning... But it looks like the committee is doing everything it can to keep Ohio St. Number 1

Saints could go 0-16 if it meant a NC for LSU and I love the Saints.

I remember when I was about 13, I found the first Baton Rouge person (Bobby G. who lived in Capitol Heights) I had ever met who said he'd prefer the Saints winning a super bowl over LSU winning a Football National Championship. I found it to be such an odd opinion. I really couldn't comprehend it.

He asked me if I'd trade three Saints' SB wins for one LSU FB NC. I said no way. He asked if five or ten Saints C'ships would be worth one LSU NC... I said nope and nope.

That was back when I kindof gave a shite about the NFL. If you asked me today, there's no number that would be worth trading away a single LSU National Championship.

To me, these things have so much do do with timing... i grew up in NOLA and attended Saints games when Archie manning was QB.. the Saints were my first love, i was obsessed with them from a very early age.. i’m Talking through the 1-15 season, and other times that truly test your mettle.. dont even get me started on how much character it builds to support a team that was that atrocious at times in the 70s and 80s..... Then i became a casual LSU fan, attending games in the Sugar Bowl and Tiger Stadium occasionally... and then i started school at LSU, and became over the years equally as much a fan of LSU/NCAA football as Saints /NFL football.

The timing thing comes in because if you had asked me 10 years ago, my answer would have been Saints SB and it isnt close.. but then the Saints won one... Ive tremendously enjoyed the LSU NC’s in 03 and 07, but the Saints have won it all more recently, so i kinda lean LSU at *this* point in time... but yes, ideally both will happen in the next couple months, and we’ll all get to witness history that is unlikely to ever repeat itself in Louisiana sports.

Saints SB for me, although I am pulling for LSU to win it all since AU is out of the picture.

Hope the refs let your OL hold everyone like they did the AU DL.

This particular year, LSU.

Normally, saints.

The older I get, the more I ask myself, why do I put so much stock and emotion into a bunch of 18 year olds throwing the football around? Their main goal is to go to the nfl and make money anyway. The saints players are professionals and New Orleans is my hometown so that’s easy.

But this year has been beyond special watching Joey B and that fricking offense. I don’t think the saints are super bowl material this year anyway.
