That’s unfortunate.

Ring is good too.

Just got a ring last week. Like it so far.

I have the ring 2 doorbell. I would get that so you can connect it to where your doorbell use to be. The battery powered one seems like it would be a pain to change all of the time.

Just installed a ring 2 today. Easy set up. Connects to doorbell wires ams has battery back up. No complains so far.

I just installed (today) Arlo Ring Video Doorbell. Aside from breaking my chime box, the installation was a snap once I figured out what I was doing (even after watching several YouTube videos).
Arlo says it can be done in 7 easy steps --- and while that is true, it did take me a short while to get it all figured out.
The video is crystal clear. About a 2-second delay from what I can tell.
Edited to add ...
I'll also be installing 2 Arlo Pro 3 cameras soon as well. I decided on Arlo based upon reviews and a good friend of mine has one.

What about storage of video on the arlo?

We’ve had the Ring doorbell and Arlo cameras for a couple of years now. Love them.

Haven’t gotten that far yet. I know I get three months free, so I am able to store whatever I want for now. Will be looking further into this.
I think it is $3 per camera?

We have had 3 Arlo cameras around the house for the past year and they’re great. No real need for the doorbell thing though.
We don’t pay anything monthly. It stores anything that registers as movement for 7 days and you can download and save before those 7 days are up. No reason to pay for storage for our purposes but maybe you would be going further back than a week?

Not sure, but probably not? I imagine if I need to save a video file that is about to be deleted, I can just text it to myself or a family member.
I think there may be some features that might be limited for the cameras (Pro 3) if I don’t subscribe? I need to look more into this,

Is there an annual or monthly fee to use the ring app?

We recently got the Arlo cameras and they are great. Like you said, if you have a camera that shows the front door, there is no need for the doorbell camera.

Wire free you’ll be replacing batteries then right?

We just went through this and we couldn't find any good reason to subscribe and pay other than the storage. 7 days is plenty for us. The camera quality and ease of use is excellent.
