The batteries are rechargeable in the model we bought.

Ours lasts about 4 months between charges. Takes about 2 hours to charge.

Our house is 116 years old, no doorbell wiring. I’d rather charge a battery every few months than frick the door frame up for a video doorbell.

I purchased two solar panels to keep my cameras charged. The last thing I want to do is get up on a ladder every so often to change or recharge batteries.
