Unless I’m mistaken, in the playoff era no number 1 seed has won the national championship.

Just food for thought.

I think everyone understands that this doesn't change anything. I think everyone is just frustrated that there's a bias at play that caused OSU to jump us. Let's be real...it's REALLY good for a program to have an extended run at #1! There was no real reason for us to be jumped.

There’s been 5 CFP finals.

There will be #1 teams that win this thing.

Why do you people hang onto such irrelevant statistics?

That’s what you call a coincidence, not a rule.

So that means there were 2 other teams that weren't #1 that also didn't win...

Most years it doesnt matter. This year it does. There's a clear dropoff after the top 3. The #1 seed gets an easier path to the finals while 2 and 3 play each other.

At #2 we will more than likely have to beat Clemson and OSU

At #1 we will only have to beat one of them.

I guess the committee has a poor track record in determining the best team.

Number 1 seed will play in Atlanta, number 2 seed will play in Arizona. You might not care about the matchup, but a lot more Tiger fans live in or will travel to Atlanta vs Arizona.

The good thing with the Championship game in NOLA, it doesn't hurt the average Tiger fan's budget like it would every other school besides Georgia (if they are the 4 seed).

Using my own eye test, concussed memory recall, and distorted brain cells I seem to remember lots of times teams losing the game following being named #1.

Maybe it's just me, but it does seem like a curse/jinx often. We avoided it. Does tOSU avoid it with Meeechigan

Well it is this year as Clemson is way better than Utah Alabama or Oklahoma.
