Due to a lack of in-person bullying, and a lack of fist-fights, these kids get shunned with no recorse to face their tormentors or stand up for themselves.

Columbine was 1999. Unless they were cyber bullied through AIM, you can be very confident they were bullied in person.

They actually were bullied over AIM, but Columbine is pretty anomalous considering they were a close group of friends that decided to murder everyone. It’s pretty much the only school shooting of its kind, and it occured in a time when school shootings were almost non-existent. School policies changed drastically between Columbine and now, which I feel has contributed to the increased frequency in school shootings.

They were bullied period. Then they became the bully by pointing weapons at those innocent kids. The psychology of these kids definitely affected their poor decisions. Even their own friends said they were bullied.

So exactly like authoritarianism? Which is what you accuse the Democrats of doing.

Conformity is a double edged sword. People love it when it matches their worldview. But as soon as that world changes via social or economic norms then they feel threatened. But is it the worlds fault or that you failed to adapt?

Imma need some verification for that cause a quick google search turned up nothing. I did find out in the search that they had fecal matter thrown at them and groups of people used to squirt ketchup & mustard packets on them at lunch and call them fig.gots......not sure how brutal the AIM bullying was, but I think the fecal matter being thrown at them was more damaging.

Bullying was way cooler before social media. Now all the pussies do it from behind a computer screen.

Thanks Hog.

As for the OP, save for far right enclaves, I doubt their will ever be a serious push to end anti-bullying.

Mainly for the same reason it's so difficult to end social security: how exactly do you campaign against something that is (surface-level) positive.

Nobody in the public space is willing to risk their careers en masse to support bullying.

I think the misunderstanding of bullying is what caused many of these social ills. Have you ever considered that it causes people to become resentful. That maybe it leads to other issues like anger management. That it's the catalyst of the death of many people, innocents included.

What kind of society do we want to be? Killing all the homeless people is overall beneficial to our society. Raiding smaller countries that can't stand up to military power of the US and stealing all their natural resources and enslaving them is beneficial to our society.

Volod is right. This is just an example of the authoritarian right. Just like the left, you people want others to conform to your ideals. Most of the people that are bullied are not the freaks you are describing.

You can shun people that don't fit into your perfect ideal without bullying, if your overall reason for bullying really is just to help people become better members of society as you say. Otherwise, you are just trying to make yourself feel better by belittling weaker people or are just a sadist.

its the only way a person learns to stand up for themselves and not run crying for mommy

it teaches kids how to problem solve solutions to their own problems whether through avoidance or physical conflict

learning to go through bullying is a form of growing up

Kids aren’t bullied for being weak or different. They are bullied because they lack self confidence and refuse to stick up for themselves. As soon as a kid embraces who he is and becomes willing to defend his identity, even if that identity is considered weird or uncouth by peers, the bullying stops.

I was one weird kid growing up and was bullied a lot. Once I stopped trying to pretend I wasn’t weird and embraced who I was, stood up for myself, and fought back, I gained respect and was never bullied again. Now, I’m seen as weird in a good way.

Short version: kids are bullied for being ASHAMED of being different. No shame = no bullying.

SJW culture is all about being ashamed of who you are and the society you live in while trying to force yourself and others to conform to a version that is less worthy of shame. However, because shame comes from within, there is no standard of conformity which brings satisfaction, only a black pit of shame. Self-love (not narcissism which is a product of projecting self-love to cover for inner self-loathing) is the root of pride, is the death of SJW culture, and the cure to bullying.

I know I would always fight back when I was younger and it gained me resepect.

Kids dont fight back these days, they run to mommy or authority. Its no wonder so many young kids are socialist statists these days. They used authority to solve all of their problems growing up instead of settling it amongst themselves.

As a victim and giver of massive bullying that's not universally true. I would bully to get a rise out of kids and offset the bullying I was going through from older kids in my neighborhood. The only way one of the kids was gonna get me to stop bullying them was to completley ignore it for a week+ or to kick the shite out of me. Neither of which happened. It took a basketball coach to threaten to suspend me to get me to stop. As a victim of bullying, they loved when I talked back and tried to stand up for myself, cause then they would just beat the shite out of me. Bullying comes in many forms.

Bunch of morons who don't understand bullying can lead to major physiological issues, lack of self-esteem, self harm, suicide, or school shootings. But it is the internet and everyone has to sound like a hardass

So nothing should have changed after the unabomber? How many psychos or how much damage is necessary before it's a national issue? Jw
