56 years ago, the last decent Democrat POTUS was murdered.

Killed by elements of his own government because he was anti globalism, anti intervention, and wanted to break up the intelligence community.
RIP President Kennedy.
You can see elements of him and President Reagan in President Trump today.

Well both Kennedy and Reagan were shot.
See a pattern?

Yes. The lone nut theory was used to try to explain both.

Damn, I could have sworn it was the mob in New Orleans that did that! Like Jim Garrison said... ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Actually the last most decent Democrat. He was still a POS descended from the most corrupt Democrat family in American history.

I rarely use this description to characterise a president, but JFK was a great president...who was done too soon.
He inspired the American people like no president before, or since. He was forward thinking, not only in his drive toward space exploration, but kicked the door open for civil rights legislation. And as a youth I was motivated by his push for physical fitness for all Americans. Think of the health care savings we could achieve by being in shape.
If JFK had remained in office I believe we would have avoided the military disaster that was the Vietnam War. He deployed a few troops to Vietnam in an advisory role, but there's no way he would have authorised a disastrous policy like the Tonkin Resolution.
RIP JFK.

Yes. And it petrifies me for this country, particularly bc of how violent and insane elements of the American Left have become. See: e.g. Antifa.
I’m not sure we could survive as a nation if one of these lunatics got too close to him.

Maybe. But most Vietnam Vets would tell you that war needed to be fought.

Politics have changed so much that today JFK would be considered an extreme right winger. He would never even sniff a democratic nomination today.

He made up for it with the Missile Crisis, sure. . .but Kennedy was a crapshoot when it came to aggressive foreign policy and military usage.
I can see him approving Tonkin as well as rejecting it.

Yeah, yeah, but nobody has ever even asked the most fundamental question.
What did he know about Hillary before his suicide?

Holy shite. A coherent post from you that I mostly agree with.

Unconscionable that they used to parade presidents around in open-air convertibles. Unbelievable.

At this time, I won't say a word about who did it and why. Too controversial.
But, OP is right.

Bush passing the Patriot Act alone sends him to the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Presidents.

At the risk of it seeming to demean their service, you have to assume a good chunk of that is because nobody wants to think their experience there was all for nothing.
