So round 1 of the playoffs are in the books and I was just cruising the scores seeing who matches up round two when i come across this

Evangel as #9 seed traveled Friday to # 8 E.D. White...so at home in the first round of the playoff and you get beat no biggy a better team just had a tougher schedule and not enough power points to be seeded correctly...

the final score ECA 84 EDW 20...

now the "9 seed" is traveling to the 1 seed St. Thomas More...they can't feel good as a 1 seed with that coming to town can they?
Won by 64 on the road in the playoffs!!

Evangel is like John Curtis ultra lite. They recruit and beat the shite out of small schools that don’t have talent

They used to be just North LA John Curtis.

They were recruiting like fricking crazy.

Evangel ain't shite anymore which is why they moved down.

They would be the 5th best team in Division I right now

Since it’s private is there really a big deal about this?

I dont think anyone really cares about the recruiting part. I feel like whoever makes the rankings should just use some common sense in ranking the teams who play out of state games.

good one. Evangel has won their last 5 games with an average score of 55-10. I think they will hold their own. them and Calvary almost always start the season slow and get it together come playoffs

All the kids that are going to Rummel and Curtis are coming from the West Bank. Diving into the Karr batch while they're young

True story here.

In 99 Ouachita had a fall scrimmage against Evanfel in August at Evangel and me and a couple friends went to watch. Yes, I get it, it is a scrimmage, but it was Evangel's first fray into 5A while being number 1 in the nation. Meanwhile yearbefore WM was number one in 98. So it wasn't that outlandish.

On arrival we noticed real quick the sheer amount of out of state license plates . Was a who's who, Texas mostly, but some Florida and a Oklahoma too along with Arkansas.

Was like a cult. First look at the school I thought it was a cult. Little huts and felt like a "The Village" on looking back.

To see where they are now in comparison really is unbelievable. Captain Shreve is benefiting from it as is Calvary mostly. I never would believe Captain Shreve would have athletes all over the field, but low and behold they do, with depth.

I have to ask are there Prep Schools in LA like IMG, Oak Hill, Bishop Gorman?

Stanislaus was originally one but transitioned after Bro Martin went to NOLA.

I can vouch with undercovers assessment. Denny Duron and some of their assistants came and “rah rahed” us when I was in college. There was several references of angels causing fumbles and dropped passes for the other team and God telling duron he was gonna lead LA tech to a national title. Very bizarre.

Opelousas catholic beat the shite out of some team 69-0. That 69 was scored in the first half.

This was after scoring 49 in the first half of last weeks game.
