not against Mississippi State

Why? Because he didn't reinjure the ankle and got a totally different and unrelated injury?
When you're playing hurt, you are prone to injure other body parts

and the injury is entirely unrelated to the ankle, right? sucks that it happened. but this is a MUCH larger example of why these players should sit out of meaningless games instead of something against saban

Just Miss State?
What day next week would have been the day that you knew Tua was finally ready to go?

i agree with this but also see the argument that he shouldn't have played at all.
i don't see any argument for taking him out that early or anything. it was still the first half, i have no issue there.

Players are going to play if they can go. The ATC screwed this up on Sunday by not ruling him out if he was truly injured.

His ankle affected his mobility which led to the sack. No reason he should’ve been playing in this game at all, let alone up 35-7

Matt Mauck broke his foot in a game under Saban that lsu was up like 28-3 in the fourth in 2002.

Nope, but he's a selfish a-hole for playing Tua.

They use that tightrope surgery on guys(twice with Tua) when lots of NFL teams don't even use it. Being more adamant about rushing the players back on the field than NFL teams is pretty extreme.

Yepppppp.
“Oh but we asked Tua and he said it was cool.”
Brilliant.

He’s most likely a selfish a-hole, though.

Should’ve gone into the game as the backup. But once he started, it’s pretty standard to have him play the half and the two minute practice makes even more sense..

Tua should of left after LSU loss.
Get healthy, work out with trainer the agent pays for and be ready for combine and draft.
He's already slotted, getting healthy and working out will do nothing to hurt his stock. Staying at bama and continuing to play hurt will.

After watching the backup play you can see why Saban made Tua play today.

Offense without him, 3 points. This take is dumb.

Meh, if you want this to be a black and white situation, Tua's injury was a 3 month recovery time, so he basically should've been shut down for the season before the LSU game.
In reality, the culture in high-level college sports is such that you play through pain. It's not just Nick Saban. Every SEC team does the same thing, LSU does it, Auburn, everyone. I think it's silly to call out Nick Saban for this.
The one saying he should've been held out today but it was ok to play vs LSU , that's ridiculous to me. Every game he's going to get hit, delay his healing time at best and possibly suffer a worse injury. To me, you either play him or you shut him down completely. Sitting a game here and there isn't going to help much with an injury like his.
Furthermore, how can a coach go to his players and say that one game is more important than the other? The rest of you players have to treat it like it's important, but this guy doesn't? It's an incongruent message. He's either good enough to play or he's not. If he's not, you don't play him, period.

Players need to start looking out for themselves, when there is nothing left for them to play for, and their draft status is pretty much locked in a 10 spot area.
Get healthy on agents dime, you are on a 1 year+ team option contract(for 3 years, or 4) with NCAA teams. So play the game they made and walk away before you lose everything on a stupid arse play up 29 points in 4th.
